Yeah, people simply need to excercise a little quality control and let go of what people will think of them when they say they like dubstep as if it fucking matters.. I know a guy who's been into garage and then dubstep since back in the 90s and has been putting on nights for years now too. Doesn't know who Dr P is. He avoids all the crap music and still plays what he's into. Shouldn't people do that rather than getting all shameful and saying the music is dead?mashmash wrote:fucking stupid thread. dubstep's evolved into lots of different sounds, it's not going to sound the same as it did 5 or 6 years ago. so many poser twats on here

I usually say deep house and start making up fake names of producers I like.Helix [Delay] wrote:I start talking about detroit techno whenever people ask me what music I like.

you sound like a pale skinned snob who never actually walks out the front door to ever get asked such a question.particle-jim wrote:i just say i like dubstep, wait for them to reply "oh yeah, dubsteps sick, wub wub wub" and then I point out where they are going wrong, give them a brief lecture on the origins of dubstep and then list as many awesome producers as i can think of...
or sometimes when i say dubstep they reply "dubstep? fuck that, it all sounds the same, wub wub wub" in which case i just repeat the steps outlined above
alternatively i'll say future garage and they usually just assume i mean shitty garage pop from about 10 years ago, this provides me with much mirth
And you sound silly.mt eden wrote:you sound like a pale skinned snob who never actually walks out the front door to ever get asked such a question.particle-jim wrote:i just say i like dubstep, wait for them to reply "oh yeah, dubsteps sick, wub wub wub" and then I point out where they are going wrong, give them a brief lecture on the origins of dubstep and then list as many awesome producers as i can think of...

Its ok, once the drone kids have moved onto to something newer and hipper......drumstep for example.....dubstep will rise from the ashes like garage did/is/was.deadcell wrote:is officially dead
