obscure proto/early Dubstep

Post by Littlefoot » Tue Jun 29, 2010 8:56 pm

Let's see who can come up with the most obscure/un appreciated/not on a compilation therefore not loved song in the transition between UKG and Dubstep.

OK, I'll start, I have a lot of love for "DJ Abstract - Identity Crisis" someone needs to rip this and youtube it!

There is another mix of Oris Jay's Bigging up the Massive with 808 bass drum bassline instead of warpy bits too..

Shame this one never came out, such a massive tune! Remember J Da saying it probably would come out at some point, but alas no.

Nah I don't think it hit vinyl - if it did I missed it - Slugs In The Mud is SLT Mob/Nyabingi's ithink shop - personally I think Nyabingi and SLTMob get overlooked these days along with a rake of others who were more rhythmically challenging....

I think some of their stuff works really well in funky grimey house context when it's slowed right down...

I miss dubplate.net

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.dubplate.net

try some of those links for nostalgia. Pity the audio doesn't work.
