If I understand your question, the pads on the mpk suck. Sometimes they don't trigger, sometimes they double trigger. For tapping out beats, forget about it, it is not a reality to use them for that. People have said I'm not hitting them hard enough... I'm 6'2" 240, when I hit the pads the whole mpk bends in the middle. I use maximum sensitivity and all the rest, no difference. The pad kontrol on the other hand, triggers the moment you hit it, you can get light taps, heavy hits, you can get really quick successive hits, the pads are like what pads are supposed to be.

I'm going to try the mod on the mpk today! I would really like to get the mpk's pads working. If they work, I can get rid of the pad kontrol cause I need the desk space...
