Midi to USB with Ableton

Post by DanielStafford » Fri Jul 02, 2010 2:09 pm

I've brought a roland juno 106 & a Midi to USB interface. Im currently working in Ableton, I've plugged the the midi cables into the midi in/out sections of the roland & the usb cable into the computer. Im really stuck with setting it up in ableton though, I want to get the sounds being played from the juno to run through into Ableton.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

then you need an audio input (not midi) on your computer, plug the juno audio out in there, create an audio track in live and choose the correct input (your soundcard / audio interface)

also after you get the audio track working you can... (for midi editing purposes)
setup a midi track - have this receive midi from the juno - and set the midi back out to the juno!!
My midi cable got stolen so I use this technique so my 88es can control my Korg R3
