Basically i just want to know how easy it is to connect to my midi keyboard which has midi in and out (pcr 300). Is it literally just a case of plugging it in and it'll just work or will i have to configure some stuff?
Also, let's say i'm working on a project in FL and i'm using the Blofeld plus Zeta and 1 or 2 other soft synths, plus all other samples etc. I'm jamming on the Blofeld and i've got the sound i want. cool. Now i want to go to Zeta and jam on that. Will i have to do any faffing about when changing from the blofeld to Zeta since i'm using the same keyboard? or is it as simple as just clicking zeta and my keybaord will play stuff from that.
cheers
If it gets too confusing i'm thinking i'll just get the keyboard version.
Anyone own a Waldorf Blofeld?

Re: Anyone own a Waldorf Blofeld?
Hello there, yep i've got a blofeld (desktop version).
In answer to your first question, yes it's dead easy to connect a midi keyboard to the blofeld using midi, the only thing you might have to configure is the midi receive channel on the blofeld, just set it to the same midi channel that your keyboard is transmitting on ie. 1-16 or set it to "omni" then it'll receive midi regardless of what midi channel your keyboard is set to.You can access this on the blofeld by pressing and holding the "shift" button and then pressing the "global" button.
In answer to the second question.....no,you shouldn't have to faff around with anything,in saying that i'm not familiar with FL,i use Reaper, but i'm set up in a similar way ie. one midi keyboard controlling all synths(blofeld plus soft synths). The main difference to the setup i described in question 1 is the blofeld is connected to the laptop via usb not the midi port,so your DAW should recognise it as a midi device. So the way i use it is....create a midi track set it's output to the blofeld, set it's input to your midi keyboard,do the same for any soft synths/samplers ect. and it should work as you described ie. click zeta and your keyboard will play stuff from that, click blofeld and your keyboard will play stuff from that.......obviously you'll have to set up a seperate audio track to get the sound from your blofeld into yer DAW.....
Oh ya another good thing about the blofeld is the "multi mode" which means you can have 16 different sounds assigned to the 16 midi channels and each of these channels can be triggered independently by 16 different midi tracks...fairly cool!
Anyway i hope this has been of some use to you and hasn't been too long winded
