the OFFICAL dubwar vs dmz stories, photos, etc thread.

Post by secretagentgel » Mon Feb 26, 2007 4:46 pm

post em here! i need to check with my lawyers before deciding what to post myself.

dave: holding it down and pulling it off without once faking an english accent
poax: the romance, the square dancing, the claims of inventing the genre, the attempts to sell a UK passport to homeless men faking a cockney accent
joe: the rockstar poses, the charm
jua: making it look easy, for merking the mc at the sound clash
loef: knocking me backwards with sound. what was that first tune? jesus
mala: not only bringing all the right records, but then a crate of 7inches for the pub sessions, pure vibe!, for paying the $1 entry for us to get into a party at 3AM
seckle: the guy behind the guy, always on point
fredo and sara: pure jokes, damn. my face hurts from laughing all weekend. best. house guests. ever.
georgina: a sweetheart, thru and thru

to everyone new i met, everyone i met again, it was pure raver vibes. amazing. i was one of the first to walk into the venue so i got to watch it fill up. all smiles, so many pounds, everyone immediately brethren.

i slept the night away. i'm so pissed at myself. LOL

anyways, reading the 18 page DMZ Dubwar thread here got me nervous about getting in. i figured the gentlemen thing to do was let the busloads of ppl from Ottowa & Wichita, Kansas get in first.

DMZ will probably be back here in NYC for PS1 in the summer.. .. cough...cough....

this was a special night. unfortunately i'm too much of a zombie right now to compose consecutive sentences so will have to share more thoughts later. but thank you to everyone who came and brought so much enthusiasm. serious uplifting vibes in there.

this was a special special dubwar. Unreal.

Dave and Ken...soldiers. No doubt.

Thanks to the tshirt people too....loving the tee.

Mala, Loe, Poax -- unreal. It's a shame the sound system didnt cooperate. Looks like we'll need to another dmz vs dubwar this summer.

Thanks to the people that waited patiently in line for tickets. i know it was cold...trust me. i was there chatting with you all for nearly an hour.

finally....thanks to everyone that traveled (from near and far) to make the show. without you all...there's no dubwar. There's no place to share in the vibes and the music.

I'm sitting in JFK right now, still in utter amazement. What a way to spend your first trip to NY?! Met some great people, reconnected with some great people, and saw snow fall from the sky for the first time in my life. This weekend fully surpassed all expectations I had going into it; from journeys thru Manhattan & Brooklyn, to soundclashes & preschool teacher freestyle battles, to DMZDW, to pub sessions, each & every person I had the chance to run into (new & old) contributed to my have one of the best times in my life.

*Maximum to Corey for lettin a bruva crash pon couch & propa hall-step vibes (Enzyte Dub...watch for it!)
*Big up Hera for providing backup camera duties & manatee porn.
*Dave, you are a saint amongst sinners, and you will be blessed with pizza & beer infinitum in the next life.
*Canada crew...y'all need to calm down, for real. DIDN'T NOBODY TELL YOU TO HAVE THAT MUCH FUN!!! Hope you guys got back safe.
*Tommy, hurry the hell up & move back to the bay!
*DMZ crew, pure fiyah...nuff said...
*Jua, you had the dance bubblin, both Friday & Saturday (but you did give that other soundclash MC a right proper lesson in mic controllin; hope he didn't get mad
*Joe, John & B-More crew: Awesome seeing you guys again!
*Moldy: EYES TO THE BACK!!!

Plane boarding, my time has come. THANKS AGAIN NY!!!

As always, I had a fucking blast. Props out to Dave, Joe, and all the Dubwar fam for putting such an amazing event together for one more night. You can't recreate the energy that was pulsing through that place.

What was that tune Loefah was playing w/ Flow Dan on the vocals? I'm assuming it was one of his beats, b/c it just sounded like a Loefah tune :-)

...and when the hell are these loefah vocal tunes ever going to drop (in particular that sick remix of "in the place"?). LOL, come to think of it, maybe I should've thought to ask this last Saturday.
