@ joma

Cool tune, especcially during the drops. Nice work with those vocals. It's a little different from what I usually hear here but that's definitely a good thing.
cheers man, i probably should of posted feedback before i posted the tune but anyway.
i really like this, only thing i would say if i was being a picky little tnuc would be theres a bit too much high end on the vocal, right the start when the "s" of th word stay hits, might be just me though. other than than i really like it, proper laid back, big up :)

Right here goes, finished this track today (on headphones I might add so the mixdown might be slightly cack but I thought i'd post it up to try and get some feedback as I havn't done so for aaaaaages.

Soundcloud

Don't click if your expecting loads of midrange growls and rah rah rah etc, it's been doing my head in a bit recently so i've been making more melodic stuff...

Now on to the feedback for other peeps tings

@Hakka - I'm feeling this one a fair bit, get a bit bored after a while though if i'm honest! While your midrange growls are well made they don't do an aweful lot and there's not much going on while they are doing their thing, I would have stuck some pads or delayed chords or plinky eerie piano or just something else in there to make it more interesting. In the intro/breakdown/outro you have some nice pads but they jog on once it drops which lets you really hear the drop at first but then I start to loose interest sorry! Overall, quite tidy production, not a bad tune, I'd skank if I heard it live but I don't have the desire to click and relisten now i've heard it.

@Kaiori Breathe - YES! This is awesome, at first I was like "this sounds decent" but then when that little vocal came in it elevated the whole thing into extreme awesomeness territory. Only problem with the whole tune that I can see is there is a little hiss on the 's' at the start of the vocal that really needs to be shaved off. I especially like your pads and the little, almost jazzy chords being all subtle and suave chilling in the background there ;) Very nice work.

@KhemicalKid - Not bad for a first tune at all. Very simplistic though and you have quite a lot of work to do on your production, please don't be disheartened by this though! There is a lot you have got right, your drums are quite nice though perhaps a bit too much delay on them? Your automations on your bassline are quite interesting but overal the tune is very simplistic and feels quite sparse and empty and i'm not sure that vocal properly fits in with the vibe of the track.

@Joma - I like what you were generally trying to do here and it works pretty well but there is one MASSIVE problem I have with this track, your kick drum is way off rhythm. Don't really have much else to say about this track as that's all I could focus on the whole way through!!

@Zonetrooper5 - Pretty nice track, love the chords at the start and the crunchy midrange that comes in after a while is sweet, I think you were too nervous to put it up high enough though maybe? It seems to me like you were afraid of making the track sound like a standard mid wobbler so kept the crunch realy quiet but actually you could have got away with having it much louder and it wouldnt have detracted from the chillout vibe imo, just gave it more definition and filled out the sound a bit more. As it is i'm straining to hear it when that bit drops in and i wanna have it sound above the sub rather than under it if you get me?

Hope people dont think i'm too harsh, this is for constructive criticism afterall and all the tunes I listened to were at least pretty decent and some really good.

im liking all the little bleeps and bloops in this. keeps it nice a fresh i think that the bass needs switching up a little bit more though its a solid sound but i think that if the rate was changed or subtle changes to the sound were made it would be awesome :D

so yeah if anyone wants to give me a little bit of help on the tunes in my sig would be appretiated :)

@ paravrais - Cheers mate, i just listened back and the synth does sound lonely haha, gunna stick some pads of some delays in there. Love your tune mate, bleeps are lush. Bass could do with another layer or something. Mixdown is nice and tidy. Something i would definately play. Props! :twisted:

@neff

riddims: cool vibes, percs worked really well but I think the drums needed more variety, maybe change up the clap get more clicks going on and as the song goes on build em up like a drum circle that started with only a few people and ends with 10 people. When the didgeridoo wobble thing comes it I felt like the sound was intruding, try to find a way to make the sound come in with more grace? I feel like I'm really bad at this. But anyways yeah I liked the wobbley sound but felt it didn't get introduced in the right way, also maybe add another instrument to the song? Just a chill melody or something like that would have been nice. Hoped that helped a little?

Tune on my sig, I guess its finished? I dunno i turned it in for a sample competition and didn't really have time to truly finish it they way I would have liked to, but yeah some feedback would be cool!

hey all, 3rd track. all criticisms are appreciated :D
Soundcloud

@neff

riddims: im really feelin the beat and that string combination. should prolly mix up the beat for a bit somewhere to give the song a bit more movement and variety if u have only a couple sounds like that the song sounds kinda incomplete without mixin it up a bit imo.

@tavra

gorgeous song! with a slightly thicker sub it would be awesome. i know i cant hear all the sub with my headphones but i still think it cud benefit from some fattening and maybe a tiny tiny growl. other then that awesome song

@ venture ur production sounds pretty tight, i jus think u have overloaded the song with too many contrasting sounds maybe u should try and extend the song a bit more so uve gt more time to introduce new sounds. good use of vocals, keep it up!

@ tavra tune is sweet and dreamy would agree tht it could do with a notch of sub but beautiful song tho dude!

@Shookstars

I really liked the song. The groove is pretty nice. You have lots of pauses and stuff which sound really cool but it would be good if you changed things up a bit as the track progresses

@Venture

Cool song bro 8) I really liked your bass. and it changes a lot throughout the song. Keeps things interesting.

@Mike741

Weird song lol. I guess its good but. its... um interesting :o which i guess is what you were going for so good job :D the voice samples are fit in nicely

@Paravrais

I liked the little melody. Sounded nice with those sounds. I guess the bass could be more interesting but yeah its ok

@Hakka

Nice samples :D it might just be me but i think at some parts your main bass sounds out of tune with the sub. Overall, nice track

@Kaoiri Breathe

Nice vocal sample :D nice and calm track. sounds very well made

Aprecciate if you guys would have a listen to my tracks :twisted:

It would help if you posted feedback with it as then people are more likely to want to return the favour..
Your tune is pretty gd, I like the intro, kicks get a bit annoying after a while. The midrange bass really isn't my thing but is well produced and i'm sure a lot of people on this forum would go absolutely wild for that shit! Advice? your drums need work but you've got your genre down pretty tight aside from that.

@Neff - Riddims is a great base for a track, but nothing happens!! If you build around this a lot more it could be something special but at the moment it's very naked.

@Den5hion - necrofilia is a pretty nice track, like a lot of people at the moment you have some well produced mid-range growls but I feel the rest of the song suffers as a result of this attention. Mixdown needs a bit of work, the bleep noises don't sit quite right when it drops, if you worked your eqs out a bit more you could have more stuff like that playing alongside your growls and liven things up more. Your sub feels a bit too high pitched too for the vibe your going for. Overall decent quality tune though, lots of small errors and things i'd tweak a bit but nothing major feels out of place.

EDIT: forgot to say, anymore comments on my tune would be welcome and also it would be cool if some people checked out the tune in my sig too :)

@ kaiori breathe

Lovely little track, id perhaps look for a touch more variation in the pads, but overall a nice little track
Nuff respect for keeping it nice.

@ den5hion (necrofillia) interested me from the start, bass rhythm sounds familiar can’t quite work out what it is at the moment
Nice little synth drop, bass is good, musical elements good, production maybe could do with a little tidying on the mix down, maybe turn the bass down a notch, good track

@ den5hion (Demolisher) Dark, heavy dubstep man… Loving the tension, standard heavy wobble business. Vex’d-esque would play both your tracks in the right set so good work. Im sure a tidy up on the mixdowns/ Mastering would make them blow some speakers up

Nice one

@ hakka (impossible mind)

Well produced downright dark and dirty filth man, personally I would swerve the matrix samples but it don’t take anything away from my enjoyment here

AND.... here is my effort

@noizy parka - YES MATE! very nice track, best thing i've heard on this forum for a while, love the chords especially but the whole thing is top notch, well interesting. If I had to be a prick (which as everyone here knows, I am) I'd say that the snare sample you used doesn't really do the rest of the track justice but thats just nit picking. Liked it so much I got on the download, many compliments man!

Much respect mate, thanks for the nice feedback... I was listening last night actually and was pondering another snare, maybe a bit of a switch up, might try out some ideas

Thanks

@paravrais and in the spirit of get and give, had a listen to your track, nice vibes going on liking the bass. i would perhaps bring the drum up in the mix a touch and give them a bit more presence. good work man

lol ill probably sound like an arsehole saying this but i did that deliberately. i humanaized it to give it more swing and to make it sound more natural. its not uncommon

Youtube links wont work :s

Obviously there are no 'rules' in music per se, so you can do what you like but I'm afraid that kick sounds AWEFUL! Theres a difference between making some things off kilter and putting swing in things like in 2step, glitch hop or even swing lol and just plain being out of time. The vocals sound really good as they are slightly off kilter and give a nice jittery effect but the kick is way out of time, it's impossible to dance to or listen to :( It definitely does *not* sound more natural. If you were looking to put things slightly off beat then I would make a fully quantized loop first that sounds nice and flows well and then take off all lock, zoom in loads and inch things slightly out of place...

I feel like I just sound like a bastard now, I'm not trying to diss, only to help.

I think when trying to put more swing in you still want to keep your kicks quantized to the beat... by all means nudge the snares and play with velocitys not that there are any hard and fast rules but... each to there own

WHERES MY KICK DRUM?!? Gonna upload the re-touched version in a sec methinks. Cheers for the listen :)
