Or a Dub tattoo.
If he got 'Rub a Dub mates' tattooed then I'd actually pay for it.

Ok brosteps first off yes it is 'shorthand' and any real head does know the difference, if in person I had someone laugh and assume I listened to circus etc they would probably get knocked out. First off it is not an insult, but it is intended to be which is pathetic, and second off it means absolutely nothing if it is done whilst cowering behind a monitor.

Second, buddy tried to guess my demographic and did a damn good job. Applause!

i ddint read the replies but id like to do a demographic analysis of the poster from nothing but the thread title.

I would guess the following about the op:

race: white --- east indian
age : 16-21 --- 18
nationality : American --- Canadian
economic : middle/upper middle class --- upper middle class
status: single, lives with parent(s) --- single, lives with parent(s)
religion: non practising christian (christian parents) --- non practising christian (one parent is christian, other isn't, mixed race family)
drugs: Y (weed, E, Coke) --- Y (weed and only weed, had my phase of 'cid and stuff back in the day, but I don't even drink anymore just ganj
hobbies: cars, --- Actually my hobbies are video games, music, I live in a rural area so farm stuff I guess haha rub a dub (XD)
education: high school (graduate or soon to be) --- Graduated, probably going to uni or college for IT
Location: this one is tough but im goin with florida or cali. --- Bordering Calgary Alberta.

the Op has 25 in his username but i dont want to let that throw me off my "gut feelin" of 16-21

The 25 is the day of the month I was born, and yeah never let that throw you off it could be a team number or anything ;O

This is not a put down at all, i just want to know how accurately i can sus out stuff about posters with limited info. so dont take affense but please let me know how i did

Thanks for not being a douchebag, and yeah you are pretty good. My hobby isn't cars, I just have a crappy camry and since I love bass I threw a nice sound system in which I got a good deal on used from a buddy.

prolly more like cookie monsta, nero, borgore, dr p than digital mystikz, tunnidge, LV, kode9, RSD, Goth-Trad, kromestar, loefah & cyrus
I wonder if you listen to dub, or if you just bitch about how it isn't turning into what you had always hoped and dreamed. I don't like ALL 'real' dub, but I absolutely love Loefah, Burial, Skream, some Digital Mystikz, Mala, Kromestar (Well Aliens with Kosha :D), etc. But guess what I also blast some robotic Datsik and Excision tunes, as well as some Trolley Snatcha etc for good measure. I love most kinds of dub, including the tracks which make people think they are better than everyone, as well as the tracks which are looked down upon. I have never met a dub elitist in person, but I have met alot of people that this board would consider scum (circus record boys). Truth is I actually kind of like it all, depending on the mood, and I would just love for one of you elitists to show face around here so we could laugh you out instead.

you should check some of his mixes before you decide he's an elitist...

you do have to admit that dub (the actual genre) is huge in london, so a fair amount of people from london (and most of the musical world) will think it's strange and silly to use another genre's name as "shorthand" for dubstep... it's just weird, is all. it would be like if i decided to call "hip hop" "country" for shorthand

Hertz So Good

[Women] can have spontaneous orgasms from bottom-heavy music. Or so say DJs in the drum-and-bass scene, who drew our attention to a certain Project Q. Supposedly conducted in Daytona Beach in the mid-Nineties, Project Q was a series of tests to determine if a specific audio frequency could cause orgasms in women. A self-consciously shadowy character from within the Florida bass scene -- who offered to send reams of data -- says that 50 women were subjected to bass frequencies ranging from five hertz to 50 Hz. According to him, "33 Hz provided sensations in the test subjects that were off the charts." (There's even a band named 33 Hz. Its EP, aptly enough, is called All the Hoes.) Malcolm Crocker, professor at Auburn University and editor-in-chief of both The Encyclopedia of Acoustics (John Wiley) and the International Sound and Vibration Digest is intrigued by the idea. "The human body is like any system -- it has natural frequencies. Your body is going to vibrate when there a lot of intense sound waves. If the note -- jet noise or a loudspeaker -- is at the same frequency as the natural frequency of part of the body, then there can be a lot of vibration. That's what we call resonance. We know 10 cycles or oscillations per second, which is a pretty low frequency, is the frequency of some of the organs of the body. So anything like that sounds possible, yes. The only way you could find out would be to do experiments on volunteers. Sounds strange and sort of interesting."

The post goes from girls orgasming over bass, to Dubstep cannot be shorten'd to dub... who gives a fuck what its called, the originals's know what it is and thats all that matters, let hipsters be hipsters and original listeners be original listeners.
