Any papen blue users? (question)

Post by killahbeez » Sat Jul 17, 2010 9:47 am

Papen Blue is great - - soo very powerful!!!

I have a question, however -- hopefully some ppl around the board are familiar with the synth and can give me a hand....

I was wondering . . . is it possible to automate/modify the "Env" "Vel" "KeyTrk" and "Modwhl" knobs from FILTERS A+B (such as in the "mods" section)?

These are generally some of the more "interesting" parameters in toying with sounds - but I don't see them available for selection as destinations anywhere under the "MODS" tab...

...any input is appreciated!!!

I've got Blue but I don't use it for much besides presets and some basic sounds (Sytrus does everything else) but I think you have to right click the control and select "latch to midi" then in the mod section look under the midi menu and it should be one of the controls there. I'm not sure too sure about this though I haven't tried this before

bump. thanks for responses.

I'm certainly going to sound like an idiot here... I can't "talk the talk" and certainly cannot "walk the walk", yet... but here we go.....

The MOD section is setup like this ....
slot 1: "source" . "amount" . "destination"
slot 2: "source" . "amount" . "destination"
etc.etc.
I'm looking to select knobs/parameters like "vel" "keytrk" or "modwhl" as the DESTINATION of these modifications.

@back2onett.... thanks for the suggestion , but either I'm not doing it correctly or it's not what I'm looking for. I right click the knobs and see "latch to midi", but can't figure out how to use this really. In the MODS section, the MIDI menu is only available for "SOURCE" and not a "DESTINATION" of a modification. Also - when I click "latch to midi" - I don't see the name of the parameter I "latched" clearly listed, nor do I notice any changes to the midi menu (I can't "find" it).

I hope this isn't too confusing and is clear enough to follow without opening up BLUE and looking around. I may have to get a screen cap - let me know.

Any input is appreciate!!!!

Yes you can automate everything in the filter section, maybe not inside of the vst itself, but using your sequencing program. I use Renoise and I always automate everything to give a very subtle complex sound. And yeah, Blue is very powerful!
