mapping launchpad to battery 3

I am trying to map my launchpad to battery. I have spent way too many hours of my life trying to play with automap; I got it mainly working on my remote sl, and I did attempt to use it with battery, but usually after I open ableton I just quit the "automap server" that opens so that my launchpad works natively with ableton. At this point I can hit the "user 1" button at the top of my lp and then just midi map the different cells to the 8x8 buttons, but I think it would be helpful to have the buttons light up to indicate which ones were active, playing, etc.

Has anyone tried doing/seen this? I dont need it to play out with, just for when Im producing
