Re: Fav soft synth?
See I'm the complete opposite I can't get anything nice out of an additive synth such as massive and whenever I do it seems that I've heard the sound somewhere before with FM its something new every time well at least in my experience it is

Re: Fav soft synth?
Massive has zero additive capabilities, it's a subtractive wavetable synth.
Blaze it -4.20dB

Re: Fav soft synth?
Yeah I didn't mean to say massive this is why I shouldn't smoke then come on the forums I think one thing and type another was thinking morphine because it's the last additive synth I've used they got similar names

Re: Fav soft synth?
Done the same thing with Morphine before
Pretty good synth as well, although it does suffer from the same plasticy sound that FM synths have. Throwing em through a chorus or waveshaper, something to give it a bit of hair, will lively up the sound. I like how with additive you can shape the frequency content so easily. With FM things seem to jump from boring to alien rape too quickly. Once you start modulating modulators everything can go to shit pretty fast

Re: Fav soft synth?
Well I'm eager to get into this additive synthesis just don't really know of any good virtual synths out there haven't looked into it all that much plus it's hard for me to find something that will help with with my work flow have any recommendations of demos to try out?
Re: Fav soft synth?
Basically does everything apart from FM. Additive, granular, analog, spectral, sample manipulation. Modulation is pretty intuitive. Additive engine is similar to Morphine'sSunkLo wrote:ALCHEMY![]()

And its own chorus, delay, reverb and 9 voice unisonnowaysj wrote:Need I point out that sytrus has it's own waveshaper?
and additive synthesis
and FM/AM synthesis
and you can import your own single cycles
and it has 3 chainable filters

Re: Fav soft synth?
Sounds pretty sick! might have to download a demo to see what its all aboutback2onett wrote:And its own chorus, delay, reverb and 9 voice unisonnowaysj wrote:Need I point out that sytrus has it's own waveshaper?

+1
alchemy is next level. i love fuckin with samples so i guess thats my thing-a-ling.
i also rep crystal. crystal is sick.
but as far as people bashing massive (which i don't think was happening in this thread necessarily...just in general), as far as the "everybody uses massive and all sound the same...massive is weaksauce" sentiment. it's not massive that's the problem, it's the people using cracked copies of massive that want to make brostep. they is the problem.
Re: Fav soft synth?
U-he zebra CM edition. Powerful as fuck. Free as fuck.
Though I might have a look at alchemy.

MAYBE reaktor. I'm jazzed on it.
Lets be honest, thats a bit of a cheat answer, reaktor can do anything and everything haha.
At the moment for me its Sylenth 1. I'm writing everything on this beast.

I'm a bit surprised no-one said Albino, thats up there with my top synths.
Re: Fav soft synth?
Yo man, haven't tried Sylenth 1, I'll have to give the demo a go....btw I had a listen to your tracks....nice production manlegend4ry wrote:

I know, right. I hate it when people say what I just said.legend4ry wrote:Lets be honest, thats a bit of a cheat answer, reaktor can do anything and everything haha.

I don't know if it does everything well. In terms of prebuilt devices for reaktor, I haven't found a whole bunch of things that sound good to me. But I have recently found some. And for that, I'm jazzed.
