Tune battle stuff -

Post by legend4ry » Thu Jul 29, 2010 6:12 pm

Before this gets out of hand, I just want to say I know people want to do this for fun but this is a public forum and its SUPPOSED to be a part of the forum to bring education and discuss production geekery.

So can have put a limit of only 1 tune battle going at one time and challenge someone via PM and post it in this topic so we can say whos next, etc.

Mmmmmkay?

P.S I will archive all the past battles and such here too..

I reccomend that you host your tune on an external link if you decide to take it off your soundcloud (if thats your medium of choice) so people going through old threads don't miss out.

Yeah but we can stop "calling out" threads... I mean its fun at first then it just becomes annoying and messy.

sounds good. how long do you guys want to let these things last? I'd say 3 days at most.

btw if tune battles become the focus of the DSF production board, it'll be really lame.

A massive +1, I'm not really into this tune battle lark, can't people with beef just both enter whichever sample comp is running at the time and settle it that way? Or if it's in between comps then settle it the old fashioned way with a sword duel at dusk..just anything that doesn't spam up the forum with trash talk would be nice.

A friendly tune fight takes the whole point of tune fights away
Tunes fights are about make the other person look stupid by hammering them with your production skills and coming out with a banger

Restrict it for one per month, this is a production forum. Have jokes... yes.. all in limit tho. Plus, if you're going to have these "tune battles" them don't make them so aggravated by hype, make if fun, not no hype thing. !

I think it's bollox tbh And am with DZA. A tune battle should be called by a forum member when, as has happened recently, people have obvious beef with each other or when someone is giving shit to a forum member and gets the opportunity to put their monosynth where their mouth is.

beginning to think that this tune battle malarkey is actually an exceedingly bad idea for DSF.

dza is exactly right in this case

you want a friendly battle do the sample pack contest

that said... far too much talk of battling in the last day or so

you can't just contrive a tune fight because you want e-ttention

Me and deadly want to havea friendly one ware we can show our ideas etc...

Basically the premise for our battle was to make the most piss-take cliche dubstep track with a few changes here and there, just for kicks. What do you say?
