There is a very simple reason that the current was greater around the coil, and thats because all that meter is showing is the sum of the currrents in all the wires within that loop. You pass one wire through that meter, you'll get a reading. You pass the same wire through it twice, you'll get twice that reading. This coil has several hundred turns on it, so you'll get several hundred times the reading. It's just electromagnetic induction at play, thats why he's using that type of ammeter and not one with probes.

If he was showing the power coming OUT of the coil then I'd believe it, and even then he's not showing voltage. For all we know all he's done is make a standard transformer. It doesn't harness anything, its just real science presented in a misleading way.

yeh it is a lot of fun! expands your mind scientifically, but is very strict..

it's fun to go there for a refresher from all the bickering here, but it's fun to come here for more laughs and joking around.. balancing the two is awesome

(although i rarely find any thread that i can chime in on unless it's logical/philosophical... especially in the Maths section that place is brutal)

also, if you dont read the comic that the forum is based on (XKCD), you should definitely start, its one of the best webcomics out there

I think I'm going to write a tin-foil empire book. Although it's well understood why tin-foil is amongst the guardians, no one has really described why or what it's purpose and intentions are. Where did it come from? The year is 3102. 2012 was experienced but the only catastrophe was that it reversed the year. It's now technically twenty-thirteen but everyone is too afraid to use the unholy symbolic number. This reversal was miscalculated by many greats who instead focused energy on worrying about a polar shift. No one would've suspected the 'calendar reversal' - hidden in plain sight like most truthes. It's rumoured (but vastly supported) that a new type of radiation is now seeping out of every infected calendar. No defense was possible, because the molecular structure altered monthly, making the vaccines useless. The worst was the November Rays, combined with SAD and a cold winter driving many humans inside-online. Vast networks communicated for a solution, when finally, hackman thought his Christmas turkey looked good in foil so tried it on. Soon he awakened; a beautiful caterpillar turned to a beautifuller (hah) moth. Word got round of this and soon the Ministry of Defence was both threatened and intrigued... Two years later, 5102, A new foundation was established solely for researching these unasked questions. Scientists with the Aluministry-of-Defence developed the fabled Baco-Contrail in order to protect us all, but the islamic food chain became contaminated. Halaluminium was on the market. It started fine, but something, something went wrong....
