How do you make a bass drop??
The only example I can think of from the top my head is in custard chucker by caspa where the bass falls down, I used to be able to do it but I stopped producing a year ago and have only just got back into it, having to learn all over again.

then export that and load the sound into a sampler... instant high contrast basslineJubscarz wrote:you need a vst where you can assign a mod envelope to the pitch off the wave, then draw in how you want it to drop.

Yeah. Pitch bend controls.
Without knowing what sequencer or what synth you're using it's impossible to give you advice
In Kontakt, for instance, you set the pitch bend modulator to 12 semitones and then you can bend the base 2 octaves with the pitch control.
Another alternative is to set your synth to mono and adjust the glide control and then hit the top note and while holding it hit the bottom note that you want to land on, then adjust the glide control so that it makes the gap in the time that you want it to go through. By automating your synth, you can alter your instrument real time, so that you can be using it w/o glide or with glide set to an instant setting and then adjust the glide to make a bass drop. Or just sample the bass drop and then use the wav in your sequencer.

i'm trying to figure out how to do this as well.
i'm using albino at the moment.
my method before has been to just create a dive in Renoise (tracker i use)
with pattern effect sliding down.
but would like to do this just with a synth alone.
have tried methods suggested above, but results are quite poor.
any help with fine tuning this, would be much appreciated. . . thx

For massive users, to acheive that 'dive bomb bass' sound, just make a normal sine wave bass, and modulate the pitch of the oscillator with an lfo with a slow ratio (ie drop the lfo onto the pitch box and change the number to like -12 or somthing) and there you go bludlings! easy peasy

dont u mean a hoover bass?
for albino3;
what i do is get the sub bass sound i want. go down to the bottom right where u can click on 'rate' or 'time'. select bend (just to the left of the rate/time thing) and then put the number higher and it shud bend the pitch down.
not very clear of the top of my head im not looking at albino now but hope it helped if u use the vst
