Dubstep synths can talk...

Post by enkidubstep » Mon Aug 02, 2010 1:20 pm

I've just been listening to some random artists around the place, most of them fully fledged, but not in dubstep. But they're trying dubstep out. Now is it just me, or do people like this mostly suck?

i.e. this guy: http://www.myspace.com/big.chocolate
I'm guessing by his page that he's pretty big, but his dubstep tracks are kinda lame.

So this post is to pay our respects to dubstep quite easily being the genre that most takes advantage of synthesizers. (And probably dnb too). I'm not saying every other genre's artists doesn't know how to use synths properly, but on the whole, dubsteo does it the best.

*Raises glass* To dubstep!!! *clink*

The Dubstep Remix on His page was pretty lame, not really a fan of the dubstep that relies Heavily on vocals to keep the track flowing.

New Track Produced by me in Reason 4.0. Constructive feedback would be lovely! =D

synths sound good in hiphop dnb and just about every other genre rock uses synths electro uses synths i dont think its something that shines through ine very dubstep beat some are pretty sparse with there sounds. i think if anything they are more bass ridden then synth ridden

Haha I met Big Chocolate a couple months back, met up with a friend of mine who is the drummer in Annotations of an Autopsy and Big Chocolate was touring with them with his infamous video camera:

I think the nature of his myspace page is probably down to his cult following for his youtube channel.

Anyway back to topic, not really liking his dubstep tunes, and...
