Geeneus Appreciation Thread!

Post by joeki » Mon Aug 02, 2010 3:44 pm

Geeneus has to be one of my favourite producers from the past 5 years.

No wonder he mixed the first Rinse CD. 2007 also saw the essential release Old Skool 2 / Old Skool What.
In a relatively limited discography, Star Buck and DJ Wonder - What (Geeneus rmx) are two more instant classix.

I later tracked down the few grimey bitsh e did for Dump Valve.

Haven't kept track of his recent output (if such exists?) but between 06 and 08, his productions (although few in numbers) were insta-bag material.

Gee was big back in his grime days. My favourite was under his WhizzBit alias.

I'll bump and add Now is the Time (vocal mix) , Shocka (dub mix) and thunder to that list of classics!

I was watching Underground Express (Old Grime DVD) a few days ago and they were speaking to G on there and he was saying Geeneus made deeper beats than his Wizzbit alias which after hearing listened to some of his old bits and I could definitely see where he was coming from.

Some more classics to add Ja Know, Da Stomp Riddim, Parasite, Congo and Midnite
