4track chill track with nice percussion but sub is missing for me. But I do like it alot for that style

Jake dubber- this track is a mess not in a bad way though its because it sounds like almost very jazzy the 7/4 beat is crazy indeed.

Jaydot - I hear alot of high high end. but that could be mean solid track like the wobbs on it for sure

Steeple - not bad chill track jsut needs variation right now but everything sounds crisp

Below is a new WE BANG Track that I am working on. I completely changed it. let me know what you guys think. will be adding variation soon

@jakedubber: nice idea to try somehting new but i think it's kind of a mess if you hear the track for the first time.. Maybe after some times listening...

@jaydot: Not really my thing but the 'Joooj' wobble is insane :p Nice work

@Loud Flavor: That's a nice track.. I hear some very small wobble in your synth. Maybe make that a little more clear or just put a large wobble in it.. But very nice track!

Here are my 2 new tracks ;)

@ webang- like the track and the ideas, just seems a bit too bare for me. maybe throw in sum beasty subs and a bit more build up and progression to the tune and it could sound pretty damn fresh

@ Rekstep, like it (and im not one for that wobbly business) but yeah good choice of sample on the intro, cut it down a bit time wise maybe, like the drop and sub, wobbles etc, pretty good tune,be good to hear it finished, big.

@ Jaspervc- pretty wobbly so not my thing, liked the build up tho man, sounded real nice..cant really criticise it too much as it aint something id normally listen to or produce ( not to sound like a twat, just being honest)

Rite folks its been a while and heres my new bit ive been workin on,feedback and comments would be appreciated greatly

Those pads are lush, man. They really compliment the harsh snare. Really nice tonal dynamics.
Towards the end it might be nice to drop the bass out and add a very sparse drumline, 'cos then you get another wave of those pads (and maybe a nice twinkle'y melody?)
Either way,I like it

@JemGrover
Hmmm...the general vibe is nice but there wasn't enough going to keep me interested. Some more melody, or maybe just fragmented bits of melody coming in and out would do a lot to keep the interest and flow going.

@Holda
Haha, I like this, it's quite cheeky. Work on the bass sounds a bit though, they could do with beefing and widening up. Nice to hear something that puts a smile on my face.

@jaspervc
I'm not really a fan of aggressive wobble stuff but some of the sounds in this are great, really like the wetness of that synth after the drop and the sample slotted in nicely too. Vary the drums a bit, especially hi hats/percussion to keep interest.

Now mine...it's a bit silly and is very rough at the mo', going to try to add some melody (slap bass!?) and vary up the drums. Feedback appreciated, I really don't know how I'm going to get a melody to work amongst the silliness.

@Baisic A, Deffinatley keep the piano, it sounds great! lush delay and VERY melodic. Looking forward to hearing the finished version! :D

I Blurted out a song the other day quite randomly, it has a bit of a housey / Garage feel to it but i was feeling maybe get somone else involved in it too? Who knows. Anyway let me know what you think, because i dont have a clue what to make of it. The style is a bit.... :u:

@toot - I love what you've got there dude, really playful. Some silliness never hurt anyone. I think for a melody to really work in there it needs to be just as mental as everything else. In a track of mine I recorded my 5 year old cousin messing around on my MIDI keyboard. Once quantised and repeated throughout the song it really worked. Something like that would sound awesome in your track. Can't wait to hear it finished.

Started this yesterday. It's mostly in 4/4, with the B section changing between 7/4 and 3/4. Let me know what you think

& Wabble

i like it! parts remind me of a cali style hip hop beat haha. overall sound is good and the sub bass sits good too

@ Steeple

I like the sound of it, but it doesnt really do anything. good for 2 hours work though! needs some more varience then it will be good! again, bass is good too. like the vocal chop, sits nice and got a sensible delay on it haha. deffo keep at it.

@ We Bang

Sounds good, but a couple of sounds dont quite sit right imo, like the WowOWowOW sound that cuts in, maybe abit more reliese on it? like the intro build up part though. also the kick is kinda weak too, some eqing to beef it up a little?

@ rekstep

Love the midbass in it! sounds really good. drums a little quiet for me though, they dont seem to cut through the mix like they should. intro sample is good, but goes on a little too long, and doesnt really do anything IMO. maybe a riser or a long static sweep/build up to the drop? deffo liking the sound to this one though!

@ Jaspervc
First one is pretty good, a little too repetitive for me though. Second one i like loads, love the sample and the midbass is very good! not really much so suggest though! deffo prefer the second.

@ Holda
Sounds very... dry! i think it needs alot more effects on the individual noises tbh. like on the vocal snips etc. it just sounds like samples placed ontop of a song, not in the song if you know what i mean. mid bass is ok though. just needs more work and i think it could be alrite!

@ Redjuan
I like this, very smooth and laid back. cant really suggest anything for this either, what about some sharper sounds in there, like some keys as its all just flowing long synths if you get me? just something to break up all the smooth lol. i do like it though and thats just something to try haha.

@ toot
Very clunky sound haha. not sure what to say about this really, the sounds all sit well with each other, not to my tastes though if im honest. i doubt i could listen to a full 5 mins of it without the clunkyness being broken up by something.

@ Basic A
I know you never asked, but i love the intro to this! the reversed sample (i think?) and the way it loops just before the drop. sounds real nice man.
yeahh i think the chords sit right, and do suit the sitar type sound. overall i like it!

@ Miniature
I Quite like this! the snare is very weak though, maybe layer it with a clap and some reverb or delay on it? also, maybe not kick and snare at the same time, when the track really starts i feel theres too many kicks in the overall drum loop, it seems to be overpowering all the other perc. may sound good though after the snare is beefed up! as for the genre, fook knows haha, but what genre it is doesnt matter.
just down the road from me too! (Warrington)

@ Jakedubber
TBH, the drums are overpowered by everything. just a suggestion that may sound good or shit; after turning the drums up, use sidechain compression on the bass/midbass with the kick to give a massive pumping sound. like i say, just a suggestion.

I have tried to be as honest as i can, and its all from my point of view. i am by no means good at making music so take what i say with a pinch of salt haha

Nick.

@Basic A - Really nice track, man. I think those piano chords compliment the rest of the tune really well. I'd keep them. I love the vibe you got going.

@Miniature - Crazy song... Literally. haha I like it though. I think adding some more of those arrays, like the one at :47 (but using other sounds), would help fill out the rest of the song. Good work.

@jakedubber - I'm digging the odd meter stuff and your ideas. The bass is overpowering, though. I'd bring it down a bit and bring the drums up a smidgeon. Respect for making good sounding stuff everyday. :e:

@deniss1 - Nice drum work. The intro is cool, but sounds too happy for me I guess... But that's completely personal preference. I like the bass sound you use. Nice job overall.

This is still the same track I've posted before, but with more added to it and a better mix. It still sounds a bit murky.

Nick That is so Mortal Kombat, haha- I'm much more inclined to listen to it as opposed to a lot of the other "filthy" stuff. The drums I really like as well. They give it energy. And it's got a great use of space, too
I'm also liking the fade out towards the end, when it breifly comes back in.

deniss1 Hm.. I'm feeling the general rhthem of it all. It's different. Prehaps work some more on the wobbles? They rate changes seem a bit regimented for the style, but the synth melody is actually pretty great, it's tunefull which a lot of tracks lack. Snare/clap is also fits well.

Soundcloud

I have massive problems with actually structuring a track, so it's a bit all over the place..
JUST realised that the snare also comes across as another hi hat, but there'll be the obligatory rimshot in there eventually
Never know if something is worthwhile, but appreciate all feedback. Cheers.

@JemGrover - Really nice track. I think it could easily pull off being about 6/7 minutes of relaxing goodness. A little bit of reverb and delay (just enough to be noticeable) on the drums would sound great. What would be really cool is if the track was circular, so if someone had it on repeat they wouldn't notice when it started again. I love that in chilled tracks.

@drummerpig - Thanks for the feedback man, really helpful. I love the rimshot sound and the little snare rolls that come into your track, they really work. Some of the synth sounds at the start of the track end a little fast and are a bit jolting. Mess with the release on them or just chuck on some reverb. You can also really hear different sections at 0:17 and 0:31 and that kind of screws with the atmosphere of the intro. If they blended better then that'd sound great.

Have messed with the mix of yesterday's track, drums are now audible. Have also made some other minor changes - little imperfections that were bugging me.

Soundcloud

Here's today's track. It needs a lot of work, but I quite like what I've got so far. I sampled the opening lines to Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai. Awesome film.

@jakedubber, cool tracks man they both have really great idea's in there. Can't get a good idea of what it sounds like properly as im on laptop speakers atm but from what i can hear of the song they both are pretty cool! ill have to have a proper listen to them when i can hook them up to my sub. :)

@drummerpig & snick01, Cheers for the feedback dudes all taken onboard and yea i dont even know whats going on with that track tbh but it sounds cool. Shall have to have a mix sometime snick.

Will leave some more feedback when i can listen to the songs a bit louder and with a bit more BASS.

jakedubber wrote:@4Trak - On my speakers the subbass sounds really good - warm, and not enough to stifle the mix. The fade out at 0:32 is a little too sudden I think. Perhaps if you had some delay on the drums just before they go away, with high feedback, and you faded it more slowly that bit would work a little more. Then, I'm really fussy about the little details in tracks, so it's probably fine. Give it a go though.

This is a song I started yesterday. It's a jazzy dubstep track in 7/4. Let me know what you think.

@JemGrover: Sweet tune! has quite a scuba feel to it. I don't really know what to say to improve other than try to add more depth? Its a bit of an ambiguous suggestion, but maybe slight distortion here and there with a touch of reverb could help? But over all, sweet tune!!

@drummerpig: Hmm yeah, I like the concept, but it does need a bit of work still... I think you should lay off the downsampling a bit at the start, it gets a bit much after a while. And maybe change up the melody at the start too, it sounds like something out of a mid 90's knights n castles game or something

@deniss1: Cool track dude, the only suggestion i could make is to maybe try and adjust the levels a wee bit so the drums come through stronger, aswell as adding a few simple vocal/percussion hits everynow and then to keep the listener interested. I like it overall though!
