Many of excisions, borgores, shekels, datsiks, doc. p, flux, neros etc... basslines are described in this video...

(Sorry, audio from youtube is not too clear)

Sub bass is so in your face. Pure sine or not? Doesn't sound like it was mixed with any rough waveform. Any thoughts?

Sine + tri wave. Lowpassed and compressed. I think.

Sounds a lot like the 'bassDNB' sample in Renoise, a program that I know she uses.

Sine and tri combo lowpassed is probably it. But the sub on that track feels kinda floating instead of on the ground though, if that make any sense.

I think because it isn't that low, just loud.

Looking for some advice on how to create "purple" sounds. Been tinkering with this a bit lately and haven't quite got it, but I recognize that there is usually some sort of amp envelope attached to the LFO gain so that an lfo wobble comes in later in the note. However, what I'm more interested in is the actual wave form usually used. I'm guessing a slightly detuned saw wave with a little bit of reverb? I'm getting close but not quite there, any advice to help out is appreciated :)

If this is easier to make with a seperate VST, I use Logic too.

Anyone help with this :(
i too would love to know this too.. it's kind on hip hop sounding, dr dre style..
Same reason i'm here, i think i've come close, so i'll post what i'm doing and maybe some one can work on it from there

you'll probably find that after the sound there's a horrible ring out metally sound
if you automate the frequncy on the thor filter to 0 everytime the note stops, you wont hear it:)

also, to stop it sounding so thin copy it twice and then have one playing one octave on the piano roll, and copy the notes onto the second one and make it the octave below:)

id really like to get a gnarly bass sound with that fat higher register glitching, its kinda hard to describe, but if you listen to the track, youll get what i mean. I dont really want to copy this sound, i just wanna know how to get that kind of high end grit into my bass sounds, which are currently reall low mid and sub range.

thanks guys

Trying to figure out how to make this crushed, breath-of-shattering-ice sound found in many songs but the only one I can think of offhand is DZ - Just Rolling. I'm not sure exactly what it is, my guess is some type of bit crusher effect amongst other things. I hear it all over the place, slightly different every time. How do they do it??
