Stealing Bikes in NYC - Commentary on Social Apathy
i found this funny (in a bad way)
--especially when they do find someone who cares (i wont spoil it)
Re: Stealing Bikes in NYC - Commentary on Social Apathy
this guy is a such massive wanker - its not a comment on social apathy - its cry for halp / attention / brainchild of a failed film school ego-bro-maniac with a learning disorder.
so chrome dome steals his own bike on camera with safety gear on and no one cares
no wai.
then the last guy helps him - without assuming he is stealing, just wants to help out. dont see any apathy there

thousands of bikes get stolen every day and no one ever stands up and wants to be involved, if they even notice. that's apathy.

It's apathy when 3 subways worth of people go past while your hacksawing through a chain and don't even bother to ask what the fuck your doing
Couldn't believe the police reaction though. "Excuse me but you can't be doing that in an active way"

******... err whitey stole my (his) bike?
I didn't bother to see it through as it lacked the NES soundtrack that has become essential in any bike related situation. Besides only Hipsters ride bikes in NYC, right? If that shit is anything to go by, let them steal all the bikes they can get there hands on. That spaghettio shit was the first encounter I have had in IDing a hipster, I always thought they were people who shopped at the good will/flea markets thinking it was fashionable. Kind of like those people that followed in the resurgence of the the 80's RayBan craze recently, I thought they were just tasteless and cheap.
Doesn't NYC have a reputation for being a cold hearted place anyway? Aside from being a cesspool... I mean.

the only thing you could really do is ask what he's doing, if the crooks says it's their bike and they just lost the key what are you gonna call the cops or kick their ass or something?
i mean honestly, it's hard to tell if it's the owner of the bike or not, i couldn't prove my bike is mine, if i needed to get my tools out to recover my own bike i wouldn't want people in my way.
of course i'm sure some people are going to assume he's stealing, but i can understand why they would be worried about the guy smashing them with the bolt cutter
