@hendrix what about the intro/buildup would you change?
and i thought the drums would make a cool break down where every thing went straight, but as a begining it made the song feel like you made the different clicks of a metronome your hits

I intentionally made the tempo change within the drums. Anything else to critique? Should I keep going or quit it?

Watch the volume on this 'cos the Sub is a bit to hot. Just realised that and need to work on it. I'm working off pretty awful speakers, to so I'm not sure what's happening down low...
Kinda feel it needs some bongos or something? Something tribal...
Either way, I'm bang out of inspiration for a melody. Everything I try ends up too trancy.. Want a more organic feel...

@JemGrover : Has a nice feel but the sub didn't come out to much I think rather to little, might be the speakers then ey. Tribal indian sort of drums dancing around the fire feel would be great...let me know how it goes..

I'm not familiar with the international dubstep producing community, but I hope i do this right.

@ JemGrover: Woah! I can dig this! Loving the space man!!! Bongos might be a good idea as
long as you keep it minimal imo. Great work! (I hope you manage to finish this)

@HiFoO: Good start. The bass is a bit too "airy" for my taste though. The vocal samples are a good idea
, but maybe pick some less cliché samples? (I think i've heard that "Bombaclat!" in about 5 different tunes now).
Overall: nice melodies and has potential.


@7thSun: Niiice drums! But again: "Bad bwuoy!", bit of a cliché sample innit? Also, nice space and bell melodies!
I think it's great so far.

Here's mine, been producing for near 1 year now, and I kind of hope to really finish this tune.
Unless you guys think i shouldn't and just move on.
Needless to say: sounds better if you play it a tad louder :p

Thanks man.. I can imagine that sample has been chewed all over again a few times ey heh. Well, I kinda just chucked it in there to see what happens and I kinda like it to be honest maybe tweak it a bit more...

The second drop of your tune is really sick man, love it! Rest of the track too...finish it..sounds sick already though

@TRaffickz - It sounds like you've been producing a lot longer, very well put together. I really like that second drop also, nice indeed. I can't wait to hear that finished.

@7thsun - I really like this track, it has a nice dark experimental feel. I think it needs a bit more sub and you should try a breakdown part with wobble but no drums, might sound cool? Really nice dubstep though (Y)

@HiFoO - I really like that sudden intro really grabs your attention, but it was a little sharp on the ears, maybe filter off a tiny bit of the higher freq. The wobble was nice bit too subtle try and bring it out a little, nice and big though, can't wait for the rest.

@JemGrover - I like this, it sounds good without the bongos and stuff, try it with though deff. I think that maybe you should try and add a lead similar to that of Night by Benga + Coki. It could sound quite good with a descending lead.

@ogunslinger: like the sub in this! something seems weird with the drop, although maybe it was just something i'm not used to. the quiet/silent parts sometimes feel a little strange too, 1:20 in particular. when it just went real quiet i thought the song froze or something.

@naroja: interesting sounds in there man, i dig it. i know it's just a little clip, but if you mix it up a bit so it's not so repetitive i think you're on your way to a nice sounding track.

@volcano george: that bass is tight! i haven't heard the original, but i'm liking this a lot. everything sounds pretty polished. chillastic tune!

@nnny: it's sounding pretty good! i think someone else already said this, but the intro feels like it's too long. i'd say either cut it down a bit, or maybe add some more variety in there. i like how the bass hits pretty hard, but with the strings (or whatever harp/asian sounding instrument that is) it keeps it a relaxed tune.

@jemgrover: i like how this is sounding so far, that little pipe flute sounding thing gives it a kind of jungle-y feel. keep goin with it, definitely digging the minimalistic feel.

@7thsun: you're almost there man, sounds good but i almost feel like it's missing something (or maybe just more high end sounds). it just feels a little empty, like something big on the mid-range/high end is going to come at any second.

@Traffikz: work in progress? this thing sounds like it's pretty complete to me! not much to say, instruments you chose definitely work well with the alien sample/alien vibe. second drop is fucking epic!




Here's my updated cudi remix. it's the fourth "track" i've ever tried producing, so i'm really just practicing and learning at this stage. i think someone before told me to just scrap the remix and turn it into my own tune, but i felt like i was already too far along to do that. and, being new, i feel like making a remix kinda helps me with song structure, as you're not making something from scratch. did i mention i don't even like kid cudi? just using it for practice i suppose.

tweaked some stuff, tried mixing it a bit better, but yet to master it at all. hoping to get some feedback before that happens. i'm not working with great speakers, so hopefully you guys can help me out with the details.

I like the synths that come in the middle, I think you shoud layer your snare with something that has some high end in it...the first part was very plain and boring, you should spice that up imo.....also the hi hats get pretty repetive but it's still a wip so anything is possible:)

@Bledbox hahahahahaha i cant give you serious feedback cause i was playing with the n-type soundboard from the mc thread. but your tune sounds bangin with n-type yelling brockout and turbo whealy dealy over it

@noonyez, i'm digging this a lot, liking the lush swelling pads big time. hats are a little bit repetitive, but thats a good thing if you plan on any mcing or vox over top.

@oscarhenson, the build works really well with the drums you have going on. maybe a bit more shuffle on the drum pattern would be nice in certain spots. the horn sound is definitely a nice breath of fresh air.

@dav.id, your bass sounds are fucking ill, the claps carry the riddim along really well. Needs some razor wobbles excision style and this will be dangerous
