Just got some kind of Trojan/Malware from dsf OR failing that, do not click any links in the Excision and Datsik recycling material? thread.

My Norton run out a few days ago, and I'm a bit clueless when it comes to what I need...
Just putting it out there for everyone though.

Especially things that work horribly. Norton is more of a virus that the things it's supposed to protect you against. Ever try fully uninstalling it?

I'm trying AVG on reccomendation from a friend- seems to have got rid of some pop ups, but now I'm left wth some links on my desktop to some pretty choice websites...

But yeah, just been told about Norton's reputation
Fuck it, I know a guy who'll sort it out. Cheers, anyway sirs!
Just hope no one else has got it.

Avoid AVG these days, it's really fallen behind.
For free Avast or Avira are much better. Avira if you don't play games as it doesn't have a "game mode", and Avira's AntiVir comes out on top in tests these days with Avast not far behind.

Of course, you should get Malwarebytes as well as whichever av you pick, since Malwarebytes can actaully remove things, which seems to be something the major AV companies struggle with ;)

yeah, even with avast my system is still running slower and I was pretty sure it wouldn't remove 100% of the threats...
Definitely going to leave it to someone who knows what they're doing though. Gonna delete any obvious signs of visits to "special interest" websites (haha) and send it off to a guy I know

Fucked off. I bought Ikonika's album yesterday. Was all hyped to come home and listen to it and had to spend the evening sorting this shit. Bollocks to those spammer tossers on Internet messageboards.
