I'd be interested in this as well..

But i highly doubt there is anything close to melodyne thats free!

Ive come to this conclusion! Im just going to stick to trying to create the sounds i want in fl and cope with the happy accidents!

you can always use FX.. reverb, delay, pitch shift, chop..

for example.. if you're slightly off on a vowel.. just sample.. pitch shift.. loop maybe some verb to make it gel..
whatever you want really

Are you wanting something to correct vocal pitch a la Autotune? (Though, I assume you don't want the stereotypically over-processed sound popular with T-Pain et al. these days.)

If so, try looking at GSnap, AAS Autotune, the Windows version of Autotalent, Kerovee, and ReaTune. (ReaTune comes with the Reaplugs package.) As a warning, AAS Autotune and Autotalent do not have GUIs, and they cannot be controlled by MIDI (I think), so if you want to do something more drastic than simple retuning, they may not be the best choice.

I don't know of anything to help correct timing on the fly, however.

Good luck with that, even without direct note access (DNA) something as good as melodyne would cost you.

I've studied DSP and I still think DNA is witchcraft, hell when I've got the money I'm buying it JUST for that.
