weedcali: nice and mellom ,i would like some loong "streched" woobles here and there with drums muted. and after a second drop make more wobble/note variations in the bass. more athmospheric reverby elements in the background here and there would give it some ekstra touch.

@ elkie. thought the chill track sounded cool, i think the kick sounded a little weird though, could do with having some life to it. had a good vibe to it though which is the important thing

This thread is pointless if no one gives significant feedback.
Sirius is on the money, but come on other's gotta give the constrictive crit, as well.And for the love of God/Allah/Buddha/Whatever, don't just leave some weak one liner just so you can post

Not trying to get peoples' backs up... just nice to feel the community vibe, innit :roll:

THIS :z:

So annoying when i post in this thread with a bunch of feedback and get 'sick tune mate' in return... cheers but that doesn't help me exand or improve as an artist. need tighter rules on this thread imo, too many waste posts of people just posting SC or youtube links without a single word in the post, show some decency and willingness to help others before expecting help in return.

Dear Erebus7, please kindly fuck off.

its a thread to post your WIPs in, not some ego fuelling, comment on my tune bullshit. the whole "im only giving you feedback if you give me feedback first" principle of this thread is dogshit. ive given feedback to more producers on here than ive received it from, perhaps even 10 times more (not just in this thread). if people arent commenting on your bits, then they probably arent into them, that should be feedback enough in itself. dont get calling me out just cause i didnt comment on your tune. you havent even been a member here a week yet! telling me to read the rules like youre some elite forum head. joker.

if you really want feedback on your tune, its lacklustre and dawdles about slowly without really going anywhere. you should concentrate on your progression and evolution of the tune. your synth sounds are generic and sound like presets, however the delays/reverb on them sound quite nice.

thanks to everyone who commented on my bits, didnt post them up til just gone 4am so obviously i wasnt about to start listening to loads of peoples tunes to feed back on, just stuck them up here and went to bed. if anyone wants feedback on a tune, im always more than happy to have a listen, hit me up on aim: elkiestep

So time spent on forum is directly proportionate to knowledge of rules ? This is a new account of mine on here which i made about 2 days ago, sorry if that means I'm inferior to your 3 years :Q: and since when did I call you out ? just pisses me off when I see people post shit up without any effort to contribute to the community and help other people with there tunes. and tbh mate that post of mine below wasn't particularly aimed at you so why get all up on your high horse about it ?

and as for your comment "the whole "im only giving you feedback if you give me feedback first" principle of this thread is dogshit" makes no fucking sense, why the fuck should i help someone who wont help others ? even if you don't comment on my tunes but on others that good enough for me, i couldn't give 2 shits whether i get feedback or not, but selfishness when it comes to asking for help just fucking gets on my nerves.

your coming at me with your this isn;t for your ego shit and then you go on a self righteous put down of me and my tunes and tell me to fuck off ? who the fuck are you ? 'elite forum head.' pff :i:

im not going on a self righteous putdown of you OR your tunes, you asked for constructive criticism and i gave it. if you cant hack it, dont ask for it!

basically, dont be such a fucking whinge, just cause no ones listening to/enjoying your tunes enough to comment on them.

if you wanna argue further PM me, this thread is really not the place.

I really appreciate all the comments and feedback on my tunes :]

@ Sirius, I'm feeling the intro and loving the vibe on the tune.The drums and percussion hit nicely but hmmm the kick is a bit muddyish in my opinion. But other than that, the tune is well done. Keep it up!
@ jakedubber, melody is deep and nice, vocals are real crispy clear on this tune. Lovin' the bit at 1:00 - 1:40, vocals feel hit nicely. Keep working on the drums though, think that's all I have to say haha overall the tune is well done.

Well here are the three tunes I've been working on this summer, still needs more lovin' here and there though, safe!

@Loud Flavour - All those tracks have reall good synth work man, they gel well together and you got some real interesting sounds in there.
sounds kinda bro step ish but doesn;t get too samey/boring and you balance it out well with some nice softer synths (love the piano/organy type synth in the end break of gangster mentality, contrasts real nice).
no real improvements mate tbh sound more like finished tracks to me ! keep up the good work.

@weedcali,
#1 nice dude, wobble sounds really well sculpted, is it out of a synth or resampled? levels sit mostly well for now. Hi hats are pretty chaotic, maybe throw a tight-ish gate followed by a short reverb to cut all the tail end of the release, and then make your own tail end. That trick works really well for me.
#2 beautiful storm noises and vinyl sound, i'm liking the atmosphere of this deeply. The strings are epic and sit perfect. I don't know what to tell you about this one, besides to sculpt and tighten up the ADSR and levels on your drums. I wouldn't have known it was a wip if you didn't say anything. Enjoyed thoroughly, but make it longer and more epic! Maybe could use a crazy breakcore section a la Szamar Madar by Venetian Snares.

@erebus-7
the pluck sample sounds a little bit out of place, but if you brought in some more eclectic feel instruments, it might not. Think worldly! Also indian percussion, vibraslaps, congas, bongos will make this track pop. Bass overpowers in a few spots, might want to tighten it up with a little compression (or adjust current compressor accordingly), but it's a really nice progression, good use of pads. Bring down the open hats @ 2:32 and other similar spots. Too loud!! Another idea is to layer your lead with a similar sound, that or bring in one of the leads for part a, other lead for part b, etc.
You asked us to be harder on you essentially so there it was. Fix your levels, tighten your compressors, bring down release on some of the instruments to add space.

@Bio,
#1 the nintendoey arp sounds WAY out of place. Too happy for such a robostepper tune. Get a darker arp going, or just use some big synth or bass slides, or even a voice sample or sfx.
#2 It bugs me when i notice albino fx presets, but i guess most people won't so that's ok. The killer wobble pattern you have going towards the end should be the intro to hook you quickly, but just a slightly more simplified version.
Sadly neither of these songs sound too memorable to me. Try to add some original sounds that really catch your ear to go WTF! Also original voice samples, or just something straight out of your favorite flick to give it an identity. (You could even just say "Escape" and "Entropy" into a mic right before the drops)

@Loud Flavor
#1 - I've heard this voice sample in a few tracks, i think. The grind pattern on the bass you got going is sick, but i'm thinking maybe it does the four note climb a bit too often, makes it less heavy hitting when it does hit. The bitcrushed parts you have are sculpted and shaped really well. Breakdown is nice, but i'm thinking i would like to hear a big rimshot in the breakdown instead of the snare, and save the snare for the second drop. The high pitched tones 2:25-2:51 gives it a really creepy and offsetting atmospheric which i'm digging heavily. Outro is like BLAOW BLAOW BLAOW BLAOW!! Would be pretty hard to mix, but i suppose i wouldn't need to even play it that far. Two thumbs up dude.
#2 That slightly detuned thing you have playing on it's own before the kick on the one is really ear-catching! When the beep synth comes in it fills all the right holes. I don't have any improvements to offer for this one to be honest, sounds creatively past the point of alteration. Send this shit to some labels already! (Wait! I lied! The beep conflicts a wee bit with the detuned sound in the breakdown just because they play at the same time. Not a huge issue, but it did bug me a bit.)
#3 Thats a pretty soaking wet bass there in the intro. Sounds like it's dripping dirt. Should these really be posted here homie? These are fucking hot and past the point of input pretty much i think. Voice samples are fucking epic, the little glitch edits are perfect. The stab bass line is fuckin fat. The sample&holdy bass during the breakdown is filthy. Gated slide synth near the end is so cool! Beautiful tracks, i feel like i just listened to an EP for rottun.

@Nebula,
Synths sound pretty full range atm, could use with some high and low roll-offs, take out any sound that doesn't need to be there. Liking the big squarey slide bass. Very fat.
Kick is possibly .5 - 1dB too loud. Hats could be filtered, maybe chorus to make them a little less "sharp-edged" sounding. Good filter work between 2:18 and 2:43 ish on your bass. The dripping sounds are really interesting, makes it feel like you're playing a video game where you're spelunking in a cave somewhere deep in the earth.
Might be a little too much reverb or release on your higher synths, try to add some space. The falling keys at the end of your pattern don't fit. Try to put them in the correct scale. Really Good work for first post, had me head bobbing!!

OK Here's my wip of the moment, been listening to a lot of 2004-2006 era dubs lately and they inspired this piece a good amount. Also it came together with only 45 minutes work so keep that in mind.
Feed me some back homies!

@ streetxlite: Big, big tune you got there already mate! Mixing is tight, synths are nifty. Diggin the
older stuff too lately, so def my cup of tea. One tiny suggestion though, i'd give the wobble some (more)
high end verb, should sound a bit more spacy. On the other hand, i'm still a n00b, so i could be wrong ;)
Overall, i think it's great, finish it!!!

@ Loud Flavor: Damn, baaaaad stuff! Very very pro sounding. Those tracks sound pretty finished to me, so why not
post em in the other sticky? Those vocals u using, man, soooo cool. Awesome stuff!

Thought i'd update my WIP. Would love some feedback. Thanks.

Cheers on the feedback, i'll give that a shot and see if it takes well to it.

As for your track, wow i'm impressed. The wobbles are nice and techy, not too wet or dry. Loving the pattern and switchups Rottun style when the snare and main bit comes in. There are probably too many "HUH!" samples, and it detracts from the awesomeness when it happens all the time. Find some similar samples, or just record some if you've got a mic. Listen to "Ripple" by Liquid Stranger, as this track is already heading in that style and you might get a bunch of inspiration from it.
Bring down the white noise in the swell the smallest amount if you don't mind, and space out your kick rolls a little bit more to make it more hard hitting. Maybe play with different kick roll ideas, triplets, skipped beats, multiplying/dividing on each bar, etc.

Really really ill track so far though, its so far along i was worried i might not be able to come up with any constructive feedback.

OK, got a second WIP for today, hope you guys don't mind. The levels are a good amount off because i did this on my headphones, but fuck it man i'll get to it later.
Track is entitled Field of Droplets, its about 1 and a half hours work.
