To the original poster. Have you ever actually been to a dance? You probably don't leave the house much though so i guess not

loads of people seem to hold this opinion for some reason though. lots of my friends get annoyed if dubstep comes on in a club, saying that u cant dance to dubstep. totally bollocks in my opinion, its one of the few types of music i actually dance to
to each their own i suppose...
but its still dance music

while everyone is slagging the original poster, i will admit that i was chilling listening to tunes the other night, and was thinking along these lines myself. not so much "IS dubstep dance music?", but more "how to get people from a seemingly higher bpm mentality to listen and get the rhythms to the point where they WILL dance to it".
it is still an anomoly here, with lots of people digging the sound, but standing around bobbing their heads instead of really skankin' out. so i was contemplating how or even if they will ever realize that the bpm is still around 140ish and it's actually pretty easy to dance to.
so perhaps i would change the question to: "how do you get through peoples' thick skulls that even halfstep is 140 bpm and you can dance to it?"
it's the same thing that happened (at least here in the states) when dnb first started to be heard at raves and clubs. people were just standing there like "how the fuck do i dance to this?" took em a while to catch on...i guess i am facing the same battle with dubstep.
