^ Wow thanks! Talk about constructive criticism!! Will use it!

If this forum had a buddy system, i'd totally "friend" you mate. Twice :)

+++

Edit: As for the tune: solid, clean production. In my opinion, the second wobble could do with 10% less volume, but maybe that's taste.
Great vibe, finish it!

Yeah after taking a quick listen to my second tune from today on my other system, it's pretty much all clear to me what has to be done.
I fucking love it when that happens (not often)

And to show your appreciation, you could always just follow me on sc. :)

EDIT: Third mixdown just posted, give it a minute to make the waveform. Hoping i can be content enough with it today to not obsessively do another 10 mixdowns. Thanks in advance for your more-than-three-word feedback.

Yeah, and when I asked you what accounts they were (via pm to avoid filling this thread with beef like you're insisting on) you didn't answer me.

All I'm saying is don't call me out when there's loads of people in each wip thread that do the same, just because you're pissed no one commented on yours.

On my phone at the minute, will feedback on some tunes when I'm at the computer.

is all that was needed to be said.
In spite of that, first post rules still apply. Post a reason for not reviewing others if you're not going to, and let us know when you will. Generally i'll just ignore people who drop in their own tracks and don't listen to any others, UNLESS THERE IS A REASON. make it clear to avoid stupid childish forum arguments like this that take up all of our valuable WIP/feedback space. The future of the DSF thanks you

Got no idea where to go with this really, I feel the 8bit style bass is a bit dull, but ive tried to switch it up, and personally cant come up with anything.

@streetxlite - Love the creativity on redeyed jedi. So melodic, perfect to chill to. A lot of it is extremely disorted though, which i feel kind of lets it down a little, if it was a bit clearer it would emphasize the notes more in my opinion, which would be a positive thing to do, as you have picked your notes so well. Although, listening to it again, i can understand it would be hard to get that effect, perhaps something similar to a flux p reese.

august wip, the sub bass is perfect. The melody is perfect. The synths are perfect. Try equalizing the beat a bit more!

@erebus-7 - like the style, pretty original. The beat is where i think this track really shines though.

@Traffikz - got some awsome bridging techniques going on there, and the beat is sublime! Good use of samples.

I dont think theres any point in me searching further back through the posts and commenting others, because they probably wont be looking this far ahead anyway.

ha, i'm totally chill homie
I'm actually enjoying your track a lot. Main synth might be too fullrange, especially in the breakdown and into second beat, but too big a change with a filter or EQ will kill that 8-bit feel which is pretty much vital to it's current direction, so alter at your own risk. Background pizzicato strings and staccato strings fit really well.
One suggestion is that you could do a jungle-y type breakdown or part b, abandoning the 8-bit sound for the time being, putting snares on the 2 and 4, and try wobbling the shit out of your main lead and subs lp filter. 3/16 wobbles (sines, tris, and saws up or down) tends to work really well with the 2 and 4 snare beats.
i'll follow you cause i want to hear this one done

Ill re-up this
Soundcloud

@Traffikz, i thought it was great. reminds me of Datsik. not sure if you were going for that or not though :P the bass is nice. it does sound a bit dry though. and to be hoonest, i have no clue what you could add to it to fatten it up :P

@colourless, I thought it was pretty chill. im not a huge fan of 8-bit style dubstep TBH. the bass didnt seem to have enough sub to it. it also sounded like the sub faded in and out. the sidechaining on the bass also seems a bit too intense IMO. its a good idea but just turn it down a bit :)

@colourless: I'm not really into that style but it's pretty cool, the bass needs some more sub forsure I think.
@weedcali: I like it, sick bassline and use of drums! I wana hear the whole thing now ahah
@streetxlite: pretty sick song! i think you should try making the wobbles a little deeper! it would sound sick!

heres a bit I just started today, let me know what you think of it so far ? :D
haven't messed with levels or arrangement that much yet :D mostly just getting out my sounds n stuff and putting it on a layout!

@ streexlite - thanks man! Ill definatley try all the things youve suggested, might even go listen to some other similar songs to try and get some more inspiration. Will probably make two or three versions, and we'll see which comes out best.

@ Weedcali - im not too big on the 8bit either tbh! thats why im a bit fucked off with it, because nothing else sounds as good.

@Theone_1 - When you go to post a reply, up the top of the reply box it says "soundcloud", click that, then copy and past the url of your track in the middle of it, your cursor will take you straight to the right position.

@ogunslinger - I'm liking the switch of pace, personally I like sharper snares but thats me :)

@weedcali - I like the idea and the backing melody, I think a litle more variation melody-wise for the bass would be nice to sort of match the mood of the melody.

@colourless - I like the pacing of the track, for me the synth is a tad too loud, and maybe you could try experimenting with some automation? nothing too wacky so as too upset the chill moods.

Disclaimer - First time posting in this thread, so I wont pretend to be an expert, just my personal opinions :)

Would love some feedback on the tune in my sig, It's in the dubs secton anywho,

Peace xx

@SinisterSound - I like the intro - LotR/Avatar soundtrack-esque. I think your wobble sound would be a little more bassy and you could try using a few more instruments playing similar bass lines and swap between them to stop the track getting repetitive. I like the vocals but I don't think you need them up so loud. They won't get drowned out, and you'll be able to hear the other intricacies of the track like the panning of the hi hat - which is really effective.

@streetxlite - I really enjoy this track. It's nice and housey at the start, but I like where you take it from there. The progression is well-paced and the mix is pretty much spot on (to my ears). The 'boyoyoyoyoy' sound that comes in near the end is great, but changing the speed of the LFO would be cool. Not all over the place, but throwing in some slow triplets would really make it. I also think a more refined ending would be nice. Preferably not a fade-out, but that's just my taste. Looking forward to updates.

This is (hopefully) nearly the final version of this track. I messed with the overall compression and EQ, threw in some bassier kick drumness at points, as suggested, and changed the cop-out of an ending. Thanks...
