ogunslinger: Very nice talking bass and arrangement. I love the breakbeat bits and transition between them. You should definitely open up the mix though, it's way too damp which kind of ruins the track even if the rest of the production sounds good.
theone1_: You should absolutely continue on this! It has a lot of potential. Personally I would like to hear a breakdown with maybe some melodies. The mix feels a bit damp here as well but listening to your other stuff I hear you're able to sort that out (smart move not linking directly :P, a lot of great stuff there by the way).
jakedubber: Amazing intro! Just how I like it. And wow, when I thought the drop was coming the filtered bass part with the sample came... Very unique sound. I really like it. That said I was a bit disappointed with the real drop though after that great build-up. I don't know how the last version sounded but eventhough you say you added a bassier kick I believe it should be even stronger. The same goes for the snare. As a whole I absolutely love it though.

Here's something I'm working on. A bit of the 80's. 8)

Any feedback is appreciated!

I just LOVE the synth in the beginning it's awesome :)
But I was a little disapointed by the drop,I think you could work a lil bit more on it but great work nonetheless :D

@Grok - I like what you've got so far, it has a lot of potential. I think a proper drop would be great, could be huge. The drums should get really big after that too. Lots of reverb and a little bit of delay, a bit of overdrive and perhaps even a bit reduction (although that often sounds cheesy) all over the drums after droppage. I love the bass sounds and how varied they are without sounding like sounds from completely different songs. I think the BPM could come up by about 2 or 3, but that's just me being really picky and annoying. I'm looking forward to the next version

Also thanks for the helpful feedback. I think the track sounds better now. I still need to work on the drums at the beginning (before the filter part) but I'm uber-tired and was curious to hear what you think about it so far.

thanks for the comments. as i said, its pretty rough. so theres no variation in bass/melody yet. the way i work is, get the basic idea down with drums and organization to make sure i dont get distracted and stray off course (happens to me a bit too much I'd say :P ). then i add the little details and switch-ups later.

didnt realize there was a works in progress thread, hopefully ill get some much needed constructive criticism here. this tune is almost finished i think, dont really know for sure honestly.

@NRHc: diggin this alot! especially right around and after 30 seconds. sounds like your way ahead of me in this game but for what its worth i'd say a bit more reverb to that snare, and maybe more spatious hi-hats would go along way.

weedcali Drums are lovely. Got a real nice flow to them and the panning and delay gives it some great space. Kick doesn't seem to be overly clear in the mix, but that's just splitting hairs as in this case I think it works well. Intro pads are lovely and really breathe, to

jakedubber Not feeling the sample, man.. but the bass synthesis is big. Kick sounds a bit muddy, and the snare could possibly do with some more hi's as it generally feels quite dull, colour wise. Nice composition though.. not really my cup of tea, but really promising

NRHc nice clean sounds, man with a really good sense of space. Not into drumstep (tbh not even sure what drumstep even IS) but it's certainly a descent track. Nice res-y wobble, to. Kind of like to hear a traditional Dubstep drum pattern in there at some point? Might kick it up into another gear, y'know?

Posted this a while back and I think someone said it "could be really special", but something is bugging me about it...

@jemgrover: sick shit man, nice and low key but oh soooo dark. love the subtle use of white noise behind everything. maybe add another instrument further down the track or something for a bit? seems like it could use one more thing to draw obvious attention after awhile.\

started working on this today, lemme know what yall think:

@Grok: I love that synth it sounds quality, look forward to seeing where you go with this for definite!! I think you gotta go crazy on the drop but still make sure you keep that synth lurking about in the high notes and go massive on the drums.

@JakeDubber: Big riddim!! The build up on the intro works really well as does the vocal sample you've used. Let me know if you maybe want someone to drop on it ;) Epic stuff.

Here's a little something that me and a Tate S have been working on, not sure if it's quite finished yet but I decided that I want to show people:

hi guys this is my first proper post in this section and im a bit of a newbie to production so my feedback should to be taken with a pinch of salt!

@Grok i like the start, i reckon instead of jumping straight into the wobble synth, maybe use something like strings? then use it later on. an example would be Distance's 'Headstrung'. its really nice though, a slight purple sound to it. Unfortunately, as said before, the drop isnt great and needs a little work, but its shaping up to be a good track :)

@jakedubber wow.. intro is sick! loving the strings and piano. the 2nd phase with the talking is sick, just my type of dubstep. when the drop comes after, i think you should keep the bass on that because its a little lost due to the mids/highs of the synth. but yeah man, pretty sick.

@JemGrover nice start man, maybe switch up the drums after 32 bars? also i reckon that it could have a really nice bassy drop to it.

@Move-ment nice feeling to it.the main synth is far too loud in my opinion, it drowns out the rest of the track. beef up the drums a bit bit using a compressor or something, possibly layering them to give them a bit more punch. i really like the break though its nice

Here are my 3 tracks im working on. these are the first 3 ive ever produced so absolutely rip the shit out of them cos i need as much feedback as poss! :)

@move-ment - Chilled pretty, I like it, maybe a bigger kick drum? I don't listen to much garagey stuff so my feedback might not be too good... ahhhh sly & the revolutionary :) Cheers for the feedback!!

United fruits, that track was super funky. i love it. not sure even what to criticize! XP

Blop, real murky drums... i like that. this track has a real Flying Lotus feel to it. thats great!

Jaydot, you got a good idea goin but i gotta say those hihats are too loud. the bass sounds a bit flat too. maybe add some X-Cita to it as well as slight detune and overdrive? great so far though.

Kwun-Tings, first track was great. totally feelin the drums as well as the sub bass that hit so good! second track has a good intro. the hihats seem a bit too loud though. almost like they overpower the rest of the drums/percs. try and shorten the release on the toms. their bass over laps and tends to detune the sub end of the track. thrid one had a good intro as well. loved the sub bass pitch drop.

@unitedfruits: i dig the vibe of your track, i really like the evolving sounds, maybe you could add more of that?

@olzord: i really like the vocals and the overall track is cool, but for some reason i am not feeling the same amount of energy as the tune in your sig, which i like a lot

@move-ment: i like the atmosphere and the the way the track is moving, i feel like there is something missing, maybe adding another subtle sound or melody would make it fuller?

@jaydot: def feeling the energy at .30 but kind of loses the drive around 1.30. Overall I like the track and ideas

@kwun-tings: the three tracks seem to be missing the lead. trying adding more sounds/instruments

@weedcali: i really like the drums and the atmosphere of the track, really mellow
