@ Kwun-tings: Proper minimal vibes goin here, I like it, definitely tracks need more variation, the ideas are great though and production is not too bad either :)

@Weedcali: Yhes yhes, good vibes, would like to hear the finished version. :4:

@Pixelatique: :D Needs a bit of EQ, but otherwise I'm enjoying this one! Good work.

Here is a new track that I've been on for September mainly, think it needs additional high hats and just a few switches here and there and it will be ready, cheers.

Pixelatique, awesome track! holy crap i love the vibe of it so much! the drums suit it perfectly IMO. the kick could use a bit of Umph adn like HAACK said, needs a bit eq'ing. the highs start to peak a little when the vocals come in. but other than that, its fuckin massive!

HAACK, really liked it a lot! and i agree, it does somewhat remind me of Distance. great work.

Damn man i really like this track, you set up the ambiance really well and its eq'd super clearly, the hats also get a nice little step going, good work. definitely gonna follow you on facebook

Weedcali, that track is really sick man, the intro is super long but the ambiance is cool, definitely really chilled out. ill add you and start watching for a finished version, i wanna mix it with some of the tracks in my studio set for sure bruv

Need some basic feedback with this one guys, especially regarding eq'ing, panning, and anything i can do to make it sound "fuller", thanks in advance!

@Pixelatique - I really liked it, but the distorted bass at about 21 secs was a bit out of place for me though. I like the distorted snares though, very nice touch and the shakers are nice. Really feeling the vox.

@HAACK - I very much like the vibes of this one, very dark. The bass is nice and strong, but I think it needs some kind of switch-up to keep it still lively, but very much feeling it.

@Phigure - I think that you should try that as the intro then drop into some very old style dub with some reggae. I think it would suit it well, or possibly with the Caspa style wobble, could be good? But like the jazzy vibes very much.

@Dupe - I haven't heard the original, but I like the stuttery wobble. It doesn't sound cheesey like mine do when I try it.

Here is my trak, just need some helpful suggestions:

@HAACK: Nice vibes on that, sounds menacing

@weedcali: Loving the mellowness of that and the subtle crackling in the background to add atmosphere

@Pixelatique: Some mixdown and mastering issues there but once you overcome those (small) problems that'll be a great track, gotta love the mellow garage/2step vibes

My work in prog is in my sig. just so you know.

@naroja - Sounds awesome, but post the whole track or at least a longer preview with some feedback on other tracks to get anything more useful than that.

@4trak - I love the chilled vibes of that. I think the wobble near the end could be a bit slower and bassier. Try the LFO in triplets as well, that can be nice in chillaxed tracks. Maybe you could double up the track and make the double the sub, so you still have the high frequency of the current wobble. The sub should be a little dirtier than the high as well. Some Boxcutter-style glitchy panning drums would be nice after the drop. Really nice so far.

@olzord - Nice one, that'd be cool. My mum says you'd sound great on the track - she likes your voice :). You can't go wrong when your mum likes your dubstep right? Send over a recording and I'll see how it sounds.

Pretty sure/really hoping that this is the final version of this track.

This is the track I'd rather have feedback on at the moment. I started work on this a few months ago and lost interest - but back then I was unaware of the wonderful people at DSF. Hoping for some fresh ideas.

practically fnished mate, and i have to say i love this track. only thing i would change is the synth on the drop kinda muddys out the mix and masks everything else, can barely here strings or piano as much as id like but that might just be me. try loverly the levels or EQ out some of the top end abnd see how it sounds, might just be me though, but i have listened to it, on my monitors, DJ headphones and Hi-fi speakers and i get the same impression on all 3, when its finished it'll be a wicked tune though mate !

@Move-Ment - Dig the song my man.. It gives me such a Nosaj Thing vibe. My only piece of advice.. although it may not be reputable one because this is my first post! Is that yea, the song may not be predictable and i agree that the sub bass touch at the end of your song is a nice touch like others noted but there is just a certain amount of unpredictability a song needs that i feel this lacks at a certain point.. Whether it be a new melody a harder hook or whatever. I can sense that your trying to build some energy on the last addition of the bass but it doesnt quite peak and leaves me unsatisfied. It seems the core structure is there, and its a good one. My favorite work in progress song today!

@Haack that tune is really nasty, I like it alot! Mix sounds great. I'd love to get my hands on it when you're done.

@Move-ment nice track man, I'm gearing up for notting hill carnival this weekend so some nice garage definitely hits the spot! You've got some nice vocal stuff going on, are some of your bass frequencies vocals?

anyways here is my second attempt at a dubstep tune, i normally make fidget-house :O

@adamc - nice production, like the downtempo vibe on it. I like the drums and the sub, but something about ur fuzzy synth sounds not right, its a bit dissonant. I think you should include that wah synth that comes in at the very end as its fading out somewhere and some sort of shuffle would sound cool!

@jakedubber - not sure about the kick in the beginning, sounds a bit muddy. Love your sub but ur drums througout sound a bit distorted, if thats ur intention cool, but not really my thing!

@jaydot - a bit of variation in the drums wud be good, but yeh cool track

Heres my work in progress, remix of hip hop (done loads of times i know  ) bear in mind its unmastered. feedback would be great!

Started this yesterday or summat and not really sure what else needs to be done to it so feedback please!! I'm thinking just some wee incidental hits and jingles to keep things flowing more, but dunno what else is needed..

Soundcloud

@sminch - kinda cool track but it seems to just be drums, bass and vocals which isn't really enough to keep me interested i'm afraid. The vocals go well with the beat you've got going and the squelchy bassline though. I'd say it shows promise but needs quite a lot of work still. Drums need to be EQ'd better and have the levels sorted out, the hats are louder than the kick or snare XD

@adamc - When it started my first thought was *sigh* another n00b tune to listen to but then when it got going I started to quite like it BUT then when it dropped into the aggro bit I went off it again XD it's a shame because the construction leading up to it was done well, nice melody on that funky synth line and the fidget style drop is sweet but everything about the aggro bit is just wrong. The sounds are really cliched and overused but also not very well defined and the melody is boring and...eugh I just really didn't like it sorry! I think if you kept the same vibe from the build up in the drop it would sound much better so change the synth for the 'midline' to something more bouncy and fidgety I reckon. Or if you HAVE to make it go aggro, take the midrange bit down in the mix a little, take off some of the distortion, add a bit more reverb maybe and play an actual melody with it!!

@jakedubber - Rediculously good for how young you look in your pic man XD the mixdown aint great and when it drops at 2mins you can't hear the kickdrum AT ALL but other than that it's a pretty sick track man. Love the way it false drops into that sample at the start (though it maybe goes on for a little long..) Overall good work and I expect big things from you in a few years time if your really as young as your pic looks lol!

@Jaydot - Not feeling this man :\ guess it's just not my thing but there doesn't seem to be any melody or anything going on. I'm all for heavy dubstep but I can't really get on board with something without a melody sorry.

@paravrais - The horn is super cheesy, sounds like it came straight out of a fruity loops synth, something more realistic would be cool, maybe try sampling a real horn or something. The song doesnt really go anywhere or get interesting, needs some kind of progression. thanks for the feedback on my track! 8)

@jakedubber - either would be appreciated!

It *is* a real horn sample XD lol thanks for the crit though.

EDIT: the song changes at least every 16 bars and often has more variation within those blocks, care to suggest any ways I can make it more interesting as I'm stuck for ideas with it at the moment.
