to stay away from 'big' AV software, I'd imagine (although it is a guess) that when people make these malicious viruses, they make them with the most popular anti virus things in mind so they can work aroudn them

urgh. I;m still getting random sites pop up in new tabs for no reason. And I've uninstalled FF and re-installed. Might have to format :(

DRTY please try hitman pro before you reformat.



I had something very similar that no antivirus could find, safe mode or not. Hitman pro found and removed it in under 10 minutes.

yeh i know, it's shite. isn't doing anything to help with the virus.. anyway it was free with my laptop so i can't really complain
