They didn't take over the scene - they have their place in the scene, as does everyone else, but they don't own it, nor are they the kings of it, neither did they discover or invent dubstep...the REAL scene is still in the UK.

If you're gonna listen to midrange, listen to midrange, if you're gonna listen to massive sub-heavy tunes, listen to them, just don't bother trying to start up hate with the people who like the other things as there is NO RIGHT OR WRONG IN MUSIC. It's personal taste, just leave it at that.

The low freq wobbles you're reffering to are what MADE wobbles, let me refer you to this:

Made and released long before datsik or excision came around, so if anything it's THEIR wobbles that are generic.

Long story short, dubstep is dubstep - midrange is included in that, so no there is no reed for robostep as a term.

EDIT: FackOff made my point before me , and the coki tune does have midrange yes, but it also has a nice fat sub under it.

140bpm, half timed, generally some form of syncopation, 'bass' (questionable in a lot of the midrange stuff), but midrange counted as bass in the datsik/excision stuff = dubstep.

Datsik/Excision developed their sound from dubstep tunes which in turn were influenced by dub so it's still dubstep.
