Distortion maxing Limits...

Post by carsonac » Thu Aug 26, 2010 11:55 pm

...but no noise. I am just wondering if i should be worrying about this much, I am using a distortion plugin on a Bassline and it seems to be maxing out the volume limits but doesnt actually raise the volume of the track. the song is actually my Sig (sorry mods or whoever this isnt a ploy to listen to my songs). anyways The bassline kicks in around :25 its low volume but as you can see the waveforms just jumps and it blocks out every sound (visually). Is there anything i should be doing about that?

compression + eq and even limiting will always enhace your sound and make it more personal as far you know what are you doing (and answering your question, it will sound 'louder' at the same dBs) a. on the otherhand, overprocessing could suck the life out of your patch, distortion is mostly about warmness and imperfection you know.
