Firewire interface recommendations?

Post by Killawatt » Mon Aug 30, 2010 9:40 am

Im looking for a firewire interface with at least 2 xlr inputs (overall 4 inputs) and at least 4 outputs. I just need something to connect my condenser mic, decks and computer upto my monitors so that should be sufficient.

My budget is £200 max and it must be something with half decent pre-amps.

Also if anyone knows of any online stores that do student discounts on these kind of things then let me know!

cheers,

Matt

I can't get on the official site for some reason, but I got a TC Electronic Desktop Konnekt 6. Pretty low priced (€150) and does the job very well. Only has 2 outputs though

You could probably get one second hand for around £200. I reccommend them highly, I bought one and have loved it ever since. Incredible soundcard.

I have had a great luck with my Presonus Firepod for the last 3 or 4 years. Being that it is an old model now you can probably find one for cheap. 8 ins and outs.

The focusrite pro 24, 4 ins, two nice pres, have to stretch and extra £50 tho.

Really not worth scrimping on a soundcard, wait another month if needs be IMO. Might be able to pick up a 2nd hand one.
