Diffrent is a Drum & Bass record label put together by two like-minded DJ/Artists (Chris Dexta & Jamie Hunchbak). The label was developed over a period of about 6-8 months, with many ideas being thrown about and discussions being made. In the end, they decided to go against all the major trends, and simply do something different. The aim was to get together a campus of producers who all contribute music, ideas, collaborations together and creating the whole Diffrent culture, focusing on pushing the whole movement of stripped back minimal drum tracks with big deep monstrous bass.
We believe theres a lot of soul-less Drum & Bass music out there due to labels having to put out music that “HAS” to sell. Ultimately we’re about making music fun, trying new things & putting out music that we truly love. If you like us then great, if not then we hope to change your mind in the future!
We have music signed for release by Arkaik, Chills, Dakosa, Dan Marshall, Dexta, Hunchbak, Jekyll, Joe Syntax, Relapse, Stanza & Tightrope, and have support from a lot of DJs such as Nerm, Grooverider, Fabio, London Elektricity, Lynx, Randomer, Loxy, Sabre, Data, Ulterior Motive, Bailey, Anile & Crissy Criss to name a few. It’s quite clear we’re not just putting out beats straight from our games consoles, quality control comes naturally to Diffrent.
