There seems to be a large segment of people who tuned in solely wanting to hear new Burial tracks, and can't quite admit it. It would have been a nice little bonus, but the mix was beautiful and very nostalgic, as was appropriate for something that really should be celebrating MAH and the history of the show. Showcasing Burial would have taken the focus off the point of the mix, send the host off in style.

Now I know why she waited so long to announce the mystery guests. If she had announced Burial on the show 5 weeks ago, the fever-pitch for "OMG NEW BURIALZZZZZZZ" and ensuing rage would have been insane.

I don't know, I was dissapointed when she announced that their would be no new tunes showcased during the show. But then the show kicks off and it's one good track after another. Except for the Hyperdub showcasing, which was present to be honest.

The entire thing was pretty cool though, if you know anything about 'burial' and the Show, you know this was just a fitting set.

It was 5 am business, party has ended, and we're on the way back home. That was the vibe I got and vibe is important too.

I still think it was a great set, especially the first half + That new Darkstar tune. Hype or not, I make up my own mind.
Haters gonna hate, we'll have new Burial come november lads.

While I, like everyone else, hoped to hear new burial tracks, I'm somewhat glad that this didn't happen. That doesn't seem like Burial's style. PLUS, the hint at the end that he's doing another album is more than enough to make me ecstatic.

Oh and the mix was excellent, so no complaints there.

AND A KODE9 ALBUM :o

should be sick.

The mix was to showcase the influences of both Burial and Kode9, not too promote new material which ultimately, we still have no proof of existence for.

Quit your bitching & enjoy the tunes that got played.

As much as I love his music, I didn't like the Burial crackle over every single track. :/

That new ZOmby tune is great, but when I heard it I could have sworn it was a Burial tune.

Look dont get me wrong I enjoyed the mix and when i said 'standard' i meant that technically. The Kode9 Burial mixes in the past are not standard mixes are they - they are cuts of each of the tunes - I was under the impression thats what I was going to hear hence the disppointment.

Obviously much respect to Burial and Kode9 but Ill be surprised if anything is released in November.
