Out of all the tunes i've made (whic aint that many) i've always had the same problem with pads and effects. It's not that I don't know how to make them it's just how do you determine which sounds to use and where to put them in the tune?.
There's surely billions of different atmosphere sounds and that's probably the problem, but do any of you have any tips on how I can make the selection process a tad easier?

Tell yourself over the course of the next few tunes that you won't use any pads at all - that you'll create texture and atmosphere from manipulate samples.marty wrote:when i do a track i have already an idea in my head in which direction the tune should get. just trust your ears which sounds fit well and pick the ones you like the best...
That will teach you alot. Then you select textures that suit the atmosphere and vibe that you're trying to create. You can pick out pieces that suit.
If you're using FL Studio go to a multi-track environment like live or cubase. It will make the process MUCH MUCH easier.
