BRIGHTN:RAMADANMAN,BRAIDEN+GIRL UNIT@AKA AKA ROAR FRI 24 SEP

Don't call it a come back!...........

Well do if you want, AkaAkaRoar returns in it's new Friday night format on 24th September at LIFE on Brighton seafront and we have a treat in store for all lovers of forward thinking base music!

Ramadanman:

Ramandanman is one of the most exciting prospects in innovative electronic music. Co-owner of the hugely acclaimed Hessle Audio imprint, his own productions receive support from tastemakers across house, techno, dubstep and more whilst his DJ sets are fast becoming essential listening for those in the know.
His label Hessle Audio now has a regular show on Rinse FM that he does with Ben UFO and Pangaea as well as taking over room 3 at Fabric on numerous occasions and releasing artists such as James Blake, Untold, Cosmin TRG and Ramadanman's alter ego Pearson Sound, this or course on top of huge releases from the man himself and co-founder Pangaea.
His latest release on Loefah's Swamp 81 imprint "Work Dem" is currently tearing up dance floors across Europe and we hear there is more in the pipeline! His DJ sets are truly inspirational and he never fails to get the room moving, this is defo not one to miss!

Braiden:

Braiden is celebrated for blowing up dubstep's limitations with his inventive selection and super-tight, technical mixing. Spearheading the current wave of London's what-do-you-call-it experimentation, his sets comfortably splice house, techno, garage and dubstep. He has a bi-weekly show on recently FM status granted Rinse FM and has played alongside the great & the good of dubstep at clubs like Plastic People, Scala, The End and The Egg, and it’s clear that he sees music through his own unique lens. An exhibitionist described by FACT Magazine as “absurdly talented”, Braiden lives up to the hype with a mixing style that thrives on the element of surprise – he has been known to crawl Berlin’s clubs in search of undiscovered glitch- or disco-infused music from alternate universes. An avid photographer who has recently shot artist portraits for the Ministry of Sound, look to Braiden for a technicolour vision of the future of London music.

Girl Unit:

A relative new comer to some, Girl Unit may have only recently released his first 12”, the phenomenal ‘IRL’, but he’s been a part of the Night Slugs crew since the beginning, playing a mixture of mutant club music, hip-hop and R’n’B in a way that’s gripping and completely on point. Girl Unit’s own productions take in vintage, star-lit house (‘Temple Keys’), dramatic R’n’B (‘Wut’) and 808-heavy Chicago dancefloor gear (‘IRL’), while the mix he compiled for US blog Palms Out is one of the best free mixes we’ve had the pleasure of hearing!

Support will come from a variety of Aka fam and residents as per, this month we have Dubpressure head honcho Unlikely, Aka residents Temple and Ben White and a young producer and DJ known as Leon who we think is rather talented and has a very bright future ahead of him.

As always here at at Aka we aim to provide the real deal and our new format will be no exception! Doors are 10pm – 4am and tickets are a pocket friendly £5 in advance or before 11pm and if not providing you with the quality of acts above we will also be throwing £2.50 pints and spirit mixers your way!
