Any Serato2.1/specifically rane68 user's out there?
Any Serato2.1/specifically rane68 user's out there?
Hey all, I just grabbed the rane 68 yesterday and upgraded to 2.1 as well. I can play tracks internally and in absolute mode (with both serato control vinyl and real-deal "vinyl" 12s) on my right deck. However on my left deck, I can play internally and in absolute with real-deal 12s, but when I use a serato control vinyl on the left side I only get that test signal noise (no matter which pgm source I use)...
I previously had the Sl3 and both a pioneer 800 and xone 92 and never had this prob. But when using the SL3 you have the "thru" option on your mac display. With this rane 68, there is no such option. Not sure if it's 2.1 related or rane68 related.. If anyone here has any ideas, please fill me in !
Thx

I might be stating the obvious, but does it say "Thru" on the screen on the right channel, if so click that and control tone sound will dissapear and it will work. SL3 and other 2.1 versions of serato auto pass thru.

No with the rane 68, there is no sl3box necessary and there is absolutely no on screen option for "thru" when plugged into the 68.. I reconnected into sl3 to troubleshoot and the "thru" is option there as usual, but not when I reconnected to the 68 again...
edit: when I reconnected using the sl3 and the pioneer 800.

Re: Any Serato2.1/specifically rane68 user's out there?
is the rane 68 a mixer.. im not familiar..
i know for the ttm57sl, there are small dip switches on the input panel that need to be set for your signal source (phono / line)
kind of like the little switches on the SL3.. the SL1 doesnt have these.

I got it sorted!! It seems that even though I have the decks running into the analog inputs, I have to have the pgm source knobs set to the aux input source (not a phono/cd line srce).. I browsed serato's forum and there was nothing related to this yet, but there was tons of talk about issues with the 2.1 update which is why I figured I'd look for feedback here also..
Yes the Rane 68 is the newest serato SL mixer available.. My review of this sucker is 10/10 so far, I never played on the ttm57, but the Rane 68 has some dope effects and the whole cue point strip is fun as hell to use!! And btw the main draw-point for me was the fact that there are two usb plug connections on the back of the 68, so you can seamlessly mix between two laptops without having to play a cd or real vinyl record in between djs! Here in Las Vegas that will come in handy, because at least half(probably more) of the local djs are doing the serato thing nowadays...
