[BOS] 10.13.10 PINCH @ Bassic

BASSIC is proud to bring you one of the founding fathers in Dubstep, the man like DJ Pinch. His 2007 album "Underwater Dancehall" was a milestone in elevating Dubstep to a new level. Featuring such MC's as Rudy Lee and Dub War's own Juakali, "Underwater Dancehall" takes us into a vocal rich realm that only a select few producers can accomplish.

Pinch was born in Scotland and lived there until he was six years old when his family moved to Newport in south Wales. At 18 he moved to Bristol and has been there ever since, enjoying the relaxed and bass heavy vibe of the city. After getting recognized around town for mashing minimal, garage, and grime into his DJ sets, Pinch started to incorporate some dubstep plates. But it was the experience of seeing Kode9 at the monthly night FWD>> in London that really turned his head and from then on it was pure dubstep. In 2005 he founded Tectonic Records with the motto, If your chest aint rattlin, it aint happnin! It is a label that has gone from strength to strength, created its own sound and has received a lot of respect from the dubstep fraternity across the globe. This exclusive Train Wreck mix was recorded just after Pinch mixed the second installment of Tectonic Plates, which pulls together various Tectonic vinyl cuts past and future. Flipping the script completely, it sidesteps dubstep almost completely and focuses on some of the sounds that have influenced Pinch over the years whether as a DJ, an Artist & a label boss.
- Taken from the RBMA webpage. For more info and additional links to mixes, tunes etc... check out: http://redbullmusicacademyradio.com/shows/1589/ & http://www.myspace.com/tectonicrecordings

Opening sounds will be provided by Steppo, Codiac & Dabu.
With over ten years experience in the game, and a serious love for all things music, DJ Steppo has rocked crowds from New England to New York to Miami and San Francisco, he's played along such acts as Pendulum, Adam F, Mayhem, Juju, Reid Speed and many more. He recently started his own label, Lovewave Music - focusing on the futuristic sounds of dubstep, house, and techno. You can catch his radio show on dubstep.fm every 2nd and 4th wednesday of the month. For more info check out http://www.lovewavemusic.com.

Subduction resident & Sub.fm Monday night radio show host Codiac will be tagteaming alonside Dj Dabu, the creator and mastermind of the recent Boston Soundclash events, which have featured freshly made tunes from some of Boston's finest producers.

Going to be a killer show and it's Pinch's first time in Boston! It will hopefully make up for the fact that many of us can't make it to the SWAMP81 party on mon.

Hopefully the show was sik. I'm brand new to the area, can anyone give me some direction to any other weekly dubstep event or night? I need to get my fix and I havn't seen anything dubstep related.
