Great, this guy Sam Adams is from my city too (Boston). This shits prob gonna blow up in my area. Already heard it played by a few kids partying and whatnot.

The worst part is my friends who have never listened to dubstep and basically only listen to shitty rap are coming up to me lately and saying "Oh ya some of that dubstep you listen to is actually pretty good." then showing me shit like this song and deadmau5 songs and shit. :u: :u: IMO if people really want to collab rap and dubstep together, at least use 90's hip hop man... or at least just leave it to grime and keep mainstream rap away.

But anyways, naw man, Dubstep is far from dead. It's changing for sure but I think some of the best shit I've heard is still coming from the respectable artists who know what's good. Pinch, Headhunter, Scuba, I could just keep going on. Hell, we even got some decent shit coming outta the states too. I can def fuck with what DJG has been doing lately.

I'm doing my best to ride the storm while the filth, wobble, hipster shit has its day. But I still think filth etc will die off, even now it has no real diversity. People will get bored and move on

I hope anyway.

Shit can't go on much longer

I always pronounce it deadmau-5 in my head. Pronouncing it in real life isn't a problem as I try to avoid talking about music with people who listen to deadmau5.

it happens, you havent made it as a genre till people are bastardising your shit in all manner of ways. Rock, Jazz, Metal, Hip Hop, Dnb, Garage, Classical, theyve all been shit on and used in horrible, horrible ways. Thing is, its just shit music, it has nothing whatsoever to do with the good music in those scenes.

If you get a selection box of fine belgian chocolates, hand piped decoration, praline fillings and all that shit, it doesnt matter that the corner shop at the end of your street stocks shitty half melted mars bars, it doesnt take anything away from your glorious £30 a box 65% coca liquor masterpieces. You can sit and stuff your face with them while watching a bluray of bladerunner on a 50 inch widescreen with Distances latest plate blasting out of your quality speakers. Fuck the guy next door stuffing his ugly face with mars bars while jerking off to the latest Lady Gaga vs Akon popstep video on his laptop, fuck that guy, what he wastes his life doing is his own concern, keep what youre doing real and be happy about it. Its been 40 odd years and Hendrix records still sound amazing, no amount of Bon Jovi between then and now has changed that.

Don't worry, this isn't dubstep - check your bpm. Bassnectar has said in an interview that he likes drum n bass but he doesn't know why it all "has to be at 175bpm". This track was created around that time, and its actual tempo is 87.5 (ie: 175/2). He even mixes it into drum n bass.

This. Bassnectar is not dubstep, for the most part.
