Should i buy this?? monitor question

im thinking of buying this speaker from craigslist. its a klipsch sc1. center channel speaker, the reason im thinking of buying this is b/c i dont know that i can fork out 300 or 400 bucks for a proper pair of monitors. the reviews for this speaker are mostly 4.7/5 stars or so and they would be a huuuuuge leap forward for what im working with now.

my question is. are "center channel speakers" only capable of producing mono sound?

btw - a pair of KRK RP5's are only like $150 used, they aren't the best, but a lot of guys w/ records out started on them

whats the best place to find used monitors then? i have looked at the KRKs before but cant find them cheaper than 130 each (even used!).

ive been checking craigslist daily for deals but havent seen anything in weeks. starting to get impatient.

i would be willing to spend as much as 200 for a pair but i cant even find em at that price range. suggestions?
