a tune im working on sorta hit a brick wall now let me know good points bad points etc :t: dsf

edit: @amphibian real calming tune, nice spacey trippy synths you got on it haha gives it a real e.t flying over the moon on a bicycle feel :e: :P, ive never really made chill songs so im shooting blanks here but id switch it up sometime near the middle as it gets a tad repetitive.
Wow. some wicked production going on. sounds like you can basically dream up anything you want, and not have much trouble making it happen, right? good work, mate!

Very nice. Even tho the parts are very different from each other, they don't seem out of place or like you switched songs on us. Is it the reverb blending it all together? or what? :?:

@beatbum. Really like this track man, works really well. like the piano and the melody, especially around 2:50, sounds real good with the sub. Only thing for me was the synth with loads of tremolo. The heavy panning is a little too much imo. Great work though :D

Hello dubstep forum!

This is a sound test to see how my levels are, etc. Does it sound loud enough?? Are there too many peaks/lows in volume? I'm trying to see how to get my sound more even like most of you have on here. I notice that mine (visually) has a lot of variances in volume. While most of what I see on here have the levels all the way up throughout the whole song, just about.

What should I do after mixing it and making sure the individual sounds are working fine together? For this track, I used a limiter, a maximizer, and more reverb in Cubase. I basically exported the first mixdown from the source file with all of the tracks that had some reverb. Then I opened the new aiff file and used the effects mentioned above to export my sound tester. Am I completely off bass? (pun intended) : \

Thanks for your help guys and gals, this is the only site that inspires me to work on my music.

@beatbum. Your levels sound good to me. And don't worry about what your soundcloud waveform looks like, It's the sound that matters :D

@zuto Bravitz PRetty Cool track. A personal Opinion I would change up the drop lead synth with something else. Thats just me with hoovers though. Cool non the least

Peggy . Nice one ! Like the drop . Could definately hear this in a room Its one of the dramatic Acid Head banggers

Superginger. IM kinda lost on if Im feelin this.. Might be a lil too happy hardcore for me. but its clean atleast. Vocals might be a touch to high ? coudl just be my headphones . I like the second drop around one Fidy minutes this part is HEavy (i was typing as listening)

tripwire / I f#*kin love yours and kbreaths stuff. Each track I hear ... money!!! keep it up dogg

@c-average, nothing bad to say about this really, it's a solid tune and you've got good sounds and solid production value all round. Not my style but it sounds like a good tune.

@beatbum like your chord choices for those arpeggios man, reminds me of the old FF7 game :)

@bigfatmonkey again another solid tune, at first i thought the vocoded (?) vox were a little out of place, but it grew on me and I think it sounds pretty cool now actually, i'd like to hear some more of them

@ whoever posted this http://soundcloud.com/hywlen/the-relief - you are my new hero, love it, i actually hate you a little for writing that, i have serious tune envy right now, wish I fucking wrote that.

I'd give some more feedback but It's 4:40 :S I'll hopefully get back on tomorrow. Anyway, here's a clip of a housey/2step kind thing I'm working on, didn't want to include the whole track because it isn't really mixed down and the levels are a bit iffy and it still needs a lot of work, synths need beefed up and the drums need some working on I think. But yea, just thought I'd throw this out there, see what people think.

#BigFatMonkey

Nice filth you established in the track... I like the sampling. myabe make the drop more filthier than the build? decrease delayfeedback and get itmore intense? im just thinking, I don't know how it will sound but that was my first reaction.

#C-average

I loooooooove the string(?) at 0.14. Drop is really amazing :D sounds a bit like datsik, maybe a bit too standard/simple wobble at times. but I'd definatly wvote this as a good tune :) good work

your song on page 30 was rough and filthy :D though it sounds like wobble drops in offbeat? atleast im annoyed by it.

#Kaoiori Breathe

Again.. you smash with sucha tune.. this time something very diffferent. I like housemusic and this was sucha cool track... as said beofre.. you are a very talented producer and I'ts nice to see that you evolved a kind of your own style :) I'd love to hear the finish piece of this!
though I though the intro pad was too low. And I'd work some more at the drop @0.47, I think it will sound better if you remove the sweep and the pianoroll there :P

#mr_ooze
haha funny porn sampling!!!! I like the groove in the drop... it's amazing. the synths remind me of quite crazy and intense wobbles.. but this was just quite chill and not too adrenalinegiving.. it was sweet and filthy, but I hope you know what I mean :)

don't forget to give me feedback (post on soundcloud)! :P
preferably some feedback on this new tune I made yesterday, Soundcloud. but please check out my remix of stay, slap them etc :P

goodbye

another tidy beat, all your tunes sound so clean, do you follow steps? ha :e:
just a proper mixdown like knowing what range I want each element, using simple send reverbs and multiband compression. Other wise I'm not sure how I'm doing it haha
ah i gotcha

Hi all, first post on the forums :) I think this is appropriate place to post my track. So I'm very new to producing and been producing for 6 months now with FL 9. Need some feedback from more exprienced people, tips etc.. SO this is my track: http://soundcloud.com/akkep/swampmonsta-unfinished . Lousy intro and wobble that gets kinda boring after. So any ideas what I should add/change innit and what should I be focusing on would be appreciated?

@Akkep - not bad for a beginner, two pieces of advice I'm gonna drop you. Firstly let your bassline breathe a bit, it really doesn't need the last few wobbles of each loop as it were. So have it go wob wob wob then space for drums then come back in again on the next kick if that makes sense... secondly you need some atmosphere in there, drop in some dark chord stabs or noise-ish samples in the background like rain or whatever to fill it up a bit more.
