Any science buff shed some light on this?

Most likely just Indica vs. Sativa strains. Indica has more medicinal properties, more body-high, makes you more sleepy, in my experience great for conversation. Sativa is more of a head-creep (as opposed to a headrush), making you very perceptive to certain things, the type of high you wanna actually do something to, especially creative things.

Don't think there are too many actual studies on it though...

@OP Quitting is great. Your brain's tolerance to thc is structured so that you achieve the highest high by smoking moderately. Lay off for a week+, smoke a bowl, and decide for yourself what a good pace is.

I quit for the same reason. Not remembering where you set your keys 10 seconds after you put them down gets fuckin annoying after a while. Lost so much shit like that.

think your body is just recalibrating...your brain isn't familiar with dopamine regulation i would imagine. I know a pretty limited amount about pharmacology and I know that all the literature classifies weed as a depressant but I do find that it can get me really focused like an amphetamine might but only for 15 -45 minutes...

yeah, i always find that when stoned i would just zone out and get distracted by something, so like have a spliff at midnight and spend 4 or 5 ours zoned out browsing juno and shit like that, now im not smoking i seem to be able to realise that its not the best thing to do when need to be up at 8. however, ive also found i drink a lot more to compensate for lack of spliff, probably not the best avenue to go down...

But its all about will power, if i REALLY want to go to sleep then i end up going to bed, but my mind usualy gets the better of me and i end up spending several hours on chem-recs, spending money on tunes i dont need
