Cats like Dubstep.

Post by codymackaz » Thu Oct 21, 2010 4:38 am

I don't know if this has happened to anyone else. Whenever I'm producing or mixing or even playing Dubstep, and only Dubstep, my cats (3) come into my studio and listen. But whenever it's anything else (House, Drum and Bass, Hip Hop) they have no interest in it. Am I just tripping? Or do animals have music they prefer to listen to like humans?

Its known that cats are stimulated by repetitive beats, especially low frequencies. It has been proven to stimulate their creativity.

Every cat I have had has absolutely LOVED bass. Curling up next to a bass cone, and sometimes even eating the cones while they are pushing bass. :/

Strange how animals can respond to vibrations. About 10 years ago I had a colony of Asian tree spiders that would come out to party if I stuck something like cannibal corpse on in the room

You can actually get some cool rhythms from the mating drumming sounds the male spiders do

Here's one of the beauty tree spiders

Haha yeah, curious little looking things

Ya may not find that species, but I'd guess NY still has it's fair share of other jumping spiders, had a quick peep and says most commonly found one is Phidippus audax which is a way cool one

Most the time I find jumping spiders is just a case of stumbling across them on a wall or something on a sunny day, the kinda jerky electronic movements catch my eye!

Haha my cat loves dubstep too. My room is his favourite room in the house and his favourite place to sleep is right in front of my sub XD
