if it's moving slowly with a slight rotation and occasionally shudders it could be a hot air balloon. This would also explain the glowing section in the centre (those outer glowing edges could be electrical lighting or something else)..

There's a ton of sightings, they're often better documented/corroborated than other UFO sightings, and there's a long and well publicized history of triangular or delta shaped experimental aircraft.

In other words, you probably saw American tax dollars hard at work doing things the American public has no idea they're paying for.
