can't wait for 2 things...

Post by phrex » Tue Oct 26, 2010 8:15 pm

...to happen.

first: the kryptic minds remix of lungs afterlife. soooo massive! defintly needs more recognition!

second: i'm dong a night on the 6th of october. with a meyer soundsystem. anyone heard of this? if not: is one of the heaviest soundsystems around. it is said, that it has even deeper and heavier subs than funktion 1. ooooh hell yes - i can't wait for this night.

Never got the hype for this. Just sounds like half arsed Burial. It's a shame really, Kryptic Minds have made some sick stuff.

Oh fuck, finally! I've listened to that tune about a billion times trying to understand what all the hype is. I love Burial/Kryptic Minds/Lung, but it's just not that great a tune.

i don't get you guys. i've read a 1000 times that it's a burial rip off...

bollocks. it's just different than other KM stuff. and it's just as good. and it's not a burial rip off. absolutely love the drums, athmosphere.

it's a remix and not a completley different tune - still carries the vibe of the original. also, in the end it isn't that much hyped - is it?
i love this tune.

So there's no way it's crap? I'm hating purely because it's different? (Which it isn't. There are tons of tunes like this and KM have done 2 step influenced stuff before.)

It sounds like a watered down version of South London Boroughs crossed with a watered down version of Spaceape with the vocal from Afterlife on it.

in all fairness it sounds very similar to burial, but that said its as if noone is allowed to make a tune with low bass and a garage influence on the drums without becoming a burial rip off, other people like the style and want to make a tune in its likeness.

still, does sound very much like burial lol

Makes me laugh people going on like Burial is god like, and so original.

He is so original his first album was sampled from jungle records, yeah very original! Like Burial is the only person who can use pitched vocals and garage drums!

KM as producers make Burial look silly IMO!

Anyway Afterlife remix is a sick and well produced track!

No one said Burial is God or blindingly original.

It's not pitched vocals and 2 step drums that make it sound like Burial. Garage has pitched vocals and 2 step drums.

meyer products seem to be professional.. didn't hear about it before tho

but deeper and heavy'er than F1? every sub cab is very much the same. There's only a noticeable change between scoops and 'normal' enclosures..
And btw better than the infrasub by F1 is pretty much impossible. Not saying that it isn't a good system. Just don't say that it's better than F1.

And btw, sound is not all about the bass and the spl. You can have cabs that do 25hz @ 110 dB 1m/1w, loaded with a single 18 driver, but it'll sound distorted and ugly as fuck.

imo, the best sub i've ever heard is the infrabass. Serious amount of spl, very low, raches 20hz, and still very clean and tight sound.. Listen to the f1 dance stack your self if you don't believe me.

I don't get the hype either. Don't even like the original.
