its all good Batfink mateBatfink wrote:look deci, i'm not trying to have a go at you, and i am reading your posts properly.*DeCiBella~~ wrote:im not guessing the intent ..... the intent is apparent! Thats my point.
Why dont you read my post properly before trying to pick faults with it.![]()
but you are assuming that deapoh's intent was to bring bad feeling. you don;t know that, you think that. its your opinion. everything you wrote is opinion bar the people getting fucked over thing, which is a fact that most people in this or any dance music scene are aware of.
even if deaps had posted it onn barefiles first, this is a divisive issue and would have most likely (here's my opinion...) blown up just the same once it had hit the front page of dubstepforum. he just put the facts up for people to decide about themselves. Alot of people, myself included, have been eagerly awaiting the new Barefiles. And in all honesty i still am.
im not assuming that he wanted to bring bad feeling, infact im sure he didnt want that at all. BUT... he would of known the implications of his thread (come on mate, 2 very well known organizations in dubstep fallin out), and what a massive reaction it would of had, like i said in my 1st post an announcement on Barefiles would of been much more proffesional and less negative and still informed everyone, but he obv wanted the reaction from a forum, and from a forum where he knows many of the users.
Yes it probably would of blown up on here anyway (like i DID say in my 1st post
thats my point, i didnt like they way it was done, and my post isnt jus all my opinions its stuff that actually rings true if you think about it.
now bat mate, i dont want me and you to have to fall out
all good in this hood thinkin mate, im all about good vibes.

Who is Sarah - And why if anyone does it have to be her and Geeneus that buy barefiles if the sale did go ahead - surely it should go through the station managers - or are they?
AND even if barefiles stopped the recording of it - rinse cant do ANYTHING and people would record it anyway and host it. Rinse cant do shit. For more than one reason.
1. Rinse are pirate - end of.
2. I doubt rinse management write down all the tunes played and pay royalties - so the artists could take rinse to court for breaking the law.

So did I, but considering that I downloaded far more mixes than I recorded and contributed myself, I still think of it as really good value. But I do see your point re: "limited companies"...doomstep wrote:as someone that donated - im proper pissedrachel wrote:seconded. maybe part of the nu marketing budget could be used to reimburse?autonomic wrote: Also, a lot of people donated financially to Barefiles which, sometime thereafter, became a limited corporation with a profit-driven business model.
To be honest, I'm much more pissed off with the fact that Rinse appear to be targeting those who contribute the most, but at the same time I bet they have done nothing about all those sellers of so-called "grime mixtapes" on Ebay which are quite obviously recordings from Rinse radio sessions in the vast majority of cases

i dont even post on here anymore really but i had to say this:
the moment ppl start charging for sets is the moment this thing goes to shit
think about it
why would ppl suddenly start wanting to pay for something theyre used to getting for free.
recording / hosting sets is really not that hard. look how many ppl have already said back to YSI / we'll just host ourselves / watch for the re-posts / we ain't gonna pay
and learn from that innit
one great aspect of dubstep is doing things for yourself. A hub for mixes is a good thing but its not essential what with this forum and an audio section and many people having access to their own webspace.
ALSO
why should DJs get paid for mixing music other ppl have made? If a dj / station / site gets revenue from a mix, where does that leave the producers that made the tunes in the first place? There's no fair way to distribute that revenue so I say keep money out of it
Rinse - you're on a mad one noone is gonna pay for your mixes. Barefiles - what about registering as a charity or keep taking donations? As long as there's a cause to support ppl will pay. Soon as it's a money maker that's any sense of solidarity or community out the window.
Done.
