When I had a mess around with Ableton I found the lessons invaluable when it came to finding my footing with the program, getting an idea of how it works and how it would work for me (if that makes sense).
Within a couple of weeks I'm sure you'll find yourself getting to know it... Intimately... In dirty ways...
Anyway! Enjoy :e:
Debut album "Bass, Space, Pace & Peace" out now on Methodology Recordings!
Cheers to all supporters and those who've dropped tracks in their shows!! :e:

Yeah - I recently moved from Ableton to Cubase - basically changed computers and Ableton wanted me to pay for a new license for the new computer so I thought I might as well have a look round as I'm gonna be shelling out anyway - Tried out a demo of Cubase Studio 5 and decided it was a shit heap better and went the whole hog! Don't get me wrong their are features I miss about Ableton, such as the ease and streamline, DJing capabilities etc, but Cubase as a package just offers way more, for my needs anyway. I'd definitely advise looking at Cubase - it's a lot more complicated than FL, Ableton and Reason - but in my opinion it's just much more advanced - have definitely noticed an improvement in sound quality in my tunes since the switch!

Njamimars wrote:Yeah, i've been introduced to FL due one of my friends which produced hiphop beats, but Ableton is complety different since there aint that easy grid where you just can make your drumloops that quickly, not to mention that there was a menu which showed all your VST's and samples. That option might be in Ableton Live but I need to go from the stratch. So I guess last weeks I'm going to do nothing except producing with Ableton..

Also, not troaling.
Yeah there is... the reason I would think Ableton would be nice for FL users is it does to the loop type entry. Just tab to your session view and in the channel that you have the drums just click in one of the boxes and the grid will pop up. You can make the loops whatever size you want and make as many as you want.

Samples, VST and native plugs are all in the window on the left on every screen. Top left you will see little circles. The top one toggles the box on and off, then stock plugs then VST folder then 3 more folders for samles.

Seriously if you take the built in tutorials all this stuff is covered ;)
