what the hell is wrong with skrillex? seriously i hate this forum sometimes hatin on people for no real reason (mt eden justified) but why deadmau5? guys got serious talent he experimented with dubstep it didnt turn out that good and so what? isnt it better for an artist to have varity and actually experiment? you complain if they use the same sounds and you complain if they try something new, and all this about "its just a reese i can make" then why havn't you got famous and been signed? and fair enough it may not be your style but then you shouldnt be using it as an argument

some of these names that people hate on, they never came up except on dsf. mt. eden, cragga, skrillex, doorly, doctor p, bare noize, etc.

dsf is single-handedly responsible for bringing my attention towards producers whose existence i really didnt need to be aware of.

as much i dont like mt. edens music, i never hear it anywhere....no clubs, nothing. infact when i think about...it's kind of weird. i can say that i dislike mt. eden, but the only reason i dislike his shit is because i actively sought his music out myself. (with the help of dsf drama mongering).

so does the hate necessarily translate into the real world? not in my world anyway (fortunately).

but perhaps its due to geography. perhaps people drop mt edens name a lot in london and those places. i dont know really.
hipsters tend to name drop mt eden like mad
being a dj playing vinyl or cds it gets annoying as fuck when some idiot asks you to play youtbe rips from their ipod and having to inform them a.) their taste sucks b.) they have no legitimate releases c.) your taste sucks -w-
also learn when to use the word hater you fuckin idiots, and learn what it means
dislike does not equal hater, jealousy does

probably because the majority of producers have integrity to their sound and don't switch it up on a whim
deadmau5 has production chops he just makes commercial bs and his label reps it as well
when it comes to genre especially one that people are protective of it's easy to see why people don't like seeing bigger names just cashing in on a popularity fad, when they have no real roots in the genre

i used to follow the rock and metal closely and I hated Sonny Moore and From First To Last back then... I dont however dislike Skrillex, I really like his electro tunes, much prefer them to his dubstep- of which I only like 'Scary Monsters' then the rest of his tunes sound the same... thing that pisses me off most is that he just seems to be trying to cash in on the dubstep scene and he's bringing loads of whiny emo kids with him :u:

when your at a level like deadmau5 you don't just post up WIPs on a whim to see what people think, you have a solid network of producers and djs you can hit up even if you don't know them due to fame/success imo

why can't we just all start making funky and leave dubstep to the douches and hipsters? drop the bpm, drop under the radar!

I don't think he's seling out though... His first free ep, and the second one (Scary monsters and nice sprites) both contain a lot of electro with the Heavy Bass / Fidget / 4x4 (whatever its called these days) So the guy was already wobbling. Doesn't seem like a far stretch to make a dubstep track after that.

If he produced a whole ep of crap dubstep then yeah... But unless I'm missing an EP there's just one or 2 dubstep tracks, and Scary monsters is just a really decent banger with good melody thrown in...

Other then that I want to kick his emo head in when I see an interview but to be square, he really is a decent musician IMHO.

skrillex is dope.
I heard Noisia's remix of Scary Monsters and Sprites and that shit is heavy.
Everyones entitled to their opinion, but if you're going to hate, make sure you can validate it with substantial reasoning.
He genuinely looks like a stupid emo cigarette but his music is killer. Its heavy, its progressive, its damnwell sick. Very electro but very sick.
Deadmau5/Kaskade pretty much immortalized the progressive sound, which I draw huge influences from.
A man from one of our local electronic acts 'Mix n Blend' told me, with regards to synths and similar sounds, to stick to one synth ad develop a sound people recognize you with.
Thats what Funtcase, Skrillex, Genetix/Hoax, Datsik and Excision do. In my preference, I change up the use of everything everywhere because I like making weird sounds. But thats a pretty simple and effective way to be remembered. How many folk come along and ask for a Datsik sound? SHITLOADS. Regardless of your views on Excision and Datsik, they're legendary and heavily influential in dubstep. Which is larger? Conventional low-end dubstep or the filthy brostep everyone wants to frown upon because "this is not what dubstep is about" and all that "roots" bullshit.

MT EDEN is Satan and we're just giving him more fuel. Skrillex as, at least, a musical background and makes decent music. If Noisia decided to even do remix of it, he must be doing something right.

But yeah, whatever. I say smoke a j and stfu. Make your own music and leave everyone alone (except MT EDEN - he doesn't deserve any of the props he gets)

agreed skrillex is a good producer even if hes an emofag, however I refuse to say deadmau5 is I think hes over-hyped crap. Plus it pisses me off that everybody around here, the moment you talk about electronic music is like oh yea deadmau5 hes amazing oh yea I came to deadmau5. But yea fuck all the people that QQ about the brostep. cry me a river.

Just listened to Skrillex's Lady Gaga remix of Alejandro. I almost came. His is electric style is very nice but I'm not to fond of his brostep as a whole. Not really into the dirty grime shit that only drunk people want to listen to. He does make some catchy melodies though. Anddddd he's coming to orlando next week. YOY!

So when you guys brought him up on this post I wasn't gonna check him out, then I saw his picture and that he was in one of those really bad emo bands that I used to hear about. So I thought he was gonna be borgore with emo-wannabe-deathmetal vocals and it what I found was basically a really bad version of DM, like a dm who didn't pass highschool smoked a lot of weed played a lot of video games and listened to 8bit. But it really wasn't thaaaaat terrible I was surprised when I heard a couple of his tunes and people were comparing him to mt eden.

but then I hit this song.... SUPER BADDDDD

I love the electro stuff on scary monsters, it's like deadmau5 but dirtier and with a (little) bit of variety (though with that exact same kick and snare sound, is that compulsory for all mau5trap artists or something?). The wubs let it down mostly for me.
