Magnetic man etc at Warehouse Project 29/10/10 Thoughts?

Post by DJWanger » Mon Nov 01, 2010 1:45 pm

First time poster :D Hope i dont get flamed for this :S but I had been looking forward to this night for a long long time, and it did nothing but disappoint.

Granted I'm not as into dubstep as i am into drum n bass, i went in on Friday with such a open attitude. I was thinkin to myself, when i hear these dirty wobbles i am gonna rave my face off whether i like it or not. However even though i was in a very good place all night mentally if you know what i mean i just wasnt feeling the tunes! I felt like the venue was awesome, but the sound system really didn't do it justice. Just not enough sound in the main room (maybe i just couldnt get as far forward as i needed to be to get a face full of bass but this surely should have been thought of as part of setup?). I was also really looking forward to magnetic man, but i swear they only played a few songs, and all of them were their own tunes??? Whats up with that... I also do not rate Katy B live. Maybe its also because i go to fabric regularly and am used to their best in the world system?! But then again i went Sankeys on Saturday aswell and thought that place was absoloutly incredible!!! O well thats my 2 cents!

Please feel free to show me the door if you disagree!

Totally agree. Been to quite a few whp in the past couple of years and I have realised this is the first one I mainly spent in the main room and hence it was pretty poor. Soundsystem is crap and it is full of aggy knobs.
MM were ok but didn't live up to the hype. hope you stayed for dmz? They were good as always despite the system.

I must admit, apart from magnetic man and joker, im not really familiar with anyone else (my mind needs broadening in dubstep terms, ive never really caught on to all the hype around it at the moment), although i could have stayed for dmz i wouldnt know! :D My mates spent alot of time in room 2 and said it was better, but when i was in there i thought it was even worse!! A genre my mind couldnt compute at the time (possibly because i was on cloud 9 throughout the night). Wierd downtempo stuff that started to kill my buzz after a while. Nothing an 8 hour night of tech house at Sankeys couldnt fix though :D
