Hi all,

This thread popped up on my google alerts, so thought I'd pop in and clear up a couple of points. Promise not to be a sleazy sales type

For those that don't know, I'm founder of FXpansion and did a lot of the work on GURU so far.

@ Depone - you need to drag from the pattern memory buttons above the pads.

@ nowaysj - try it and see.. something a lot of people seem to enjoy is that the workflow is different and faster than a lot of daw sequencers (though some newer daws are borrowing heavily from it, and FL Studio has always had something approximately like it). One big thing is that GURU is always in a cycle mode of sorts, which can be sorta cool to have alongside your DAW in linear mode, unless your DAW allows side-by-side linear and cycle on its own. Also has some very tidy pattern randomization type of things that you won't find in Battery. It's not for everyone for sure, but you won't know til you try :)

@ MiscreanT - GURU does have an RTAS, always has!

If anyone is on the fence about getting it (or got ahold of it via.. 'unofficial' channels and is looking to go legit) - shoot me a PM or email and I'll hook you up a deal. Happy to try and answer any more Qs you might have too.

Cheers,
Angus.

I've used it for quite some time. I stopped once drum rack came out for ableton 7, though.

Thoughts id bump this thread as GURU 2 is coming out soon! And it looks tasty....

Its going to be called something else though.
t's got that Ableton Live look
Geist will be available in AU, RTAS & VST formats and is expected to be released on November 17th 2010. The price will be $249 / £157 / €189. Could be interesting, although ive moved onto NI maschine which is the shit!

Looks dope. Do you think I can upgrade from Guru to Geist cheaply?

On the guru forum, they wont say officially until its released but the developer paul said this on the forum- 'Sorry guys, we dont comment on unreleased products. But what i will say is that we have always been very fair to our existing users when releasing a new product.'

I take that to mean a discount on upgrading!
