Just one thing : ... its pretty ueseless to make a sub sound good if its to make it sound good by itself... u may want your sub to sound good in the MIX ... so if u ask me.. ur question is much more about the whole mixing process then just the sub... are there conflicting frequencies? is your sub playing a melody over more then an octave?? seriously theres a lot of factors ..

Ok but do you increase the volume db or not? It seems like whenever I put two instances of massive in a group chain in ableton, I really need to increase sub by +1-3 db in order to hear it undernearth the mid/upper synth? is this right people?

again : theres more then just twiddling with the sub. u need to make ur overall mix good to have a good sub.

read a bunch today and nothing said anything about not compressing your subbass so....

loefah sez u should use ES1 in LOGIC for the sub bass
